I am a retired police officer who is a follower of Christ. When I was on the job I witnessed to everyone I could. Why, cause God gave me a love for people. It was simple to me I would talk to them about Christ- salvation- I didn't know anything about calvinism. Didn't care. John 3:16. I witnessed prostitutes, drug dealers, other people come to Christ. When I first heard about calvinism I compared it to John 3:16. And came up with the thats not the character of God.

Former Calvinist here, and I just want to appreciate the ministries of Dr. Flowers and Dr. Conway. Thank you brothers! I just want to say that as a former Calvinist I was sincerely wrong but God was gracious in introducing me to the concept of Free Grace theology and also Provisionism.

Pascal said once: Human knowledge must be understood in order to be loved but Divine knowledge must be loved to be understood. Yes the simplicity of loving Christ. Are you a Christian after God's own heart?

Former Calvinist here. I'm now (for now) staying away from the theology books and great writers of the faith and just take a yr or 2 to really read the scriptures for themselves. Trying to figure out what the scripture says. A lot of my beliefs are rooted in calvinism. God's sovereignty and man's free will is a issue I'm trying to figure out.
At min 29:50 I am in agreement with Mr. Flowers about the Simplicity of the gospel has came back.
2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV — But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

PS. I just loved these two comments:
1. Bobby says. He believes the Gospel of Jesus and he doesn’t have to conquer all these side distracting beliefs
2. Leighton expresses the joy leaving the oppressive Calvanistic structure and now can say freely that God loves and wants all to be saved by just trusting in Jesus.
Thx guys

Although I agree with Bobby that we shouldn't be mean to one another, I am more concerned with the growing rise of Calvinism. It nearly drove me out of my mind.

I remember one day when I was doubting Christianity, I had the thought that maybe God just hadn't given me faith. I almost prayed for faith (maybe I did; I can't remember), and then I realized how stupid that idea was. If Calvinism were true, then both my prayer and God's answer to my prsyer were predetermined, and nothing I could do would change the outcome. I realized at that point that the only thing that mattered was whether or not I was one of the elect, and everything else was just superflous.

Bobby's comments around 34:27 remind me of Jesus' "Evil Father" principle: "If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" When I encounter any question from people I counsel ("Will God forgive me for x?", "Is God punishing me for x?"etc.), just think of the kindest, most compassionate person you know or can imagine. God cannot be a worse lover than that person on their best day. No one gets turned away who responds to God's best self-disclosure (Hebrews 1:1-2).

Although I accidentally swam in Reformed waters for much of my Christian life (and I continue to benefit from many wonderful Christian brothers and sisters in that pond), Calvinism never really "stuck" with me since (among other things) it falls down on grounds of normal human experience of interpersonal relationship. It seems very "un-Trinitarian": with an Eternal Father loving the Eternal Son through the Eternal Spirit of love as the basis for reality, our human relationships are a reliable guide to understanding and knowing the God who has revealed himself in history, especially through the Word made flesh.

I am delighted to have found this channel and have benefitted from the excellent exegesis of many misapplied passages.

Man! I thank you both. Bobby, I really needed to hear this. I have been faced with trying to answer the questions brought about by my exploration into John MacArthur and RC Sproul. While I truly respect their teaching and have learned from them, I just could not reconcile limited atonement with the God of my heart. This truly helped. Thank you both.

For those who argue that men cannot resist God's will: (Acts 7:51) (Genesis 6:3)
Why would God command us to love everyone, if He does not love everyone?
Giving someone hope by showing them love when you secretly plan on destroying them is deceptive and evil.
That is not the God of Creation. Thats his enemy.

Amazing how we label ourselves and others to define and understand others. But its ALL about Jesus Christ A person, God, creator, messiah, its about the relationship you have with the king of kings. Calvinism is more of an intellectual relationship instead of from the heart.

Yes, Dr. Flowers, briefer videos would be helpful. I don't often have time to sit and watch the longer videos.

I love Bobby. I think he makes some excellent points, that boil down to how man made philosophy and tradition, of every sort, take us captive and we miss the big picture. We tend to commit to system and begin to defend it before we even have fully thought through it. These things are created with good intentions usually, but in the end divide and strip the church of its power and love. We tend to be constantly defending men and their beliefs, rather then engaging in a seeking of Truth.
As those who claim to believe the Spirit of the living God dwells in and amongst us; we need to treat that Truth as more then an esoteric concept we mentally affirm. Then as Paul explains, as we mature and grow and love people, the Spirit makes known the deep things of God as we walk with him. These other things only seem to feed our pride and cause division. Based in a seemingly unspoken rule that we cant really know what is True. And at the same time following men and their traditions as if they are infallible. We need to have a real reformation. One back to the the early church and traditions of the apostles. Not to the philosophy of Augustine. To go back to those who relied on the Spirit as we love God and love others. I think time is short and many are gonna be shocked at what jesus thinks about their behavior and theology, when he returns. Just consider it guys. Bobby made a lot of really great points we should all chew on and take to heart. Love ya'll❤
