Thank you so much for this, I am a complete noob at VR and I was wracking my brain trying to figure out why other people were able to run VR smoothly on the same GPU as me. I was considering buying a new one and upgrading my rig entirely, but it turns out I was going through airlink and this was causing my Steam VR games to stutter to the point that they were unplayable. Using the method to connect directly via the link cable fixed this for me and now my games are running much more smoothly!

Also plug link cable into motherboard USB 3.1 or 3.2 port after headset is powered on.

Doesn't work for me. What is the quest 2 desktop app? Where do I find it, and what is its official name? How exactly do I open steam and steam vr app? do I open them on my desktop screen? You leave out too many details and how to's.

i follow the steps exactly, but every time the desktop doesnt show up on my vr. Oculus app and steam say that my steam vr is constantly runing even after turning it off, other times steam vr just straight up says i dont have the oculus app downloaded dispite following its own link to download it. Im using link cable with the exact same link cable used in the video, right into the correct port in my laptop. My laptop recognizes that its connected as well, but my quest 2 doesnt. Its a new headset. Ive tried air link but that it doesnt connect when i try to
