In this video I try and give you as much possible info on the new VW T-Roc which has just gone on sale in the UK.
As a bonus (I had no idea it would be present on this day) I also give you a tour of the new Taigo Coupe SUV that has literally just arrived in the UK in right hand drive format.

On my second T-Roc. Finish appears slightly better in the facelift, but don't think the door pockets are lined like a Golf. Slightly more rear leg room in Taigo and manual handbrake. It's a more or less a pumped up Polo. VW in the UK have a 3% price increase in April.

The older 1.0 115 was a nice engine for the T roc, nice economy fuel for a Crossover, the 1.5 isn’t the best but it has some balls in there but for those power needed a Tdi is better and does the work

The old version is better looking, especially the front end.

Im seriously considering moving on our golf GTI and getting a T-roc R. Basically a 300hp golf R with a slightly higher seating position. Spec’d one up at £53k which seems a bit rich but mid 30’s for a 2 yr old model would still work. Seems ideal for our school run, occasional commute into London.

If they raised the metal surround or lowered the haptic switches on the steering wheel, your thumbs wouldn’t rest and switch on your heated steering wheel or change modes etc 👍

Good review Andrew. I guess this model may appeal to those on a budget who've bought into the SUV lifestyle dream, but quite honestly, any hatchback alternative would be the better choice for most.... 👍

Sorry, but i still don’t understand how we need 8 SUV models from each manufacturer 😔 They’re so clunky and boring imo

Andrew I'm a bit under whelmed, would have thought VW might have made more of an effort with the design for both as they look to similar.

I’m more surprised to see new cars 😂😂. Been waiting 6 months now for my GTD 😢

Why the hate for Taigo? It’s actually a good responsive steering wheel, the R line is actually good on the road and comfortable.

I understand the downside of a small tank. Also the interior, but man so many cars have boring interior plastic. But I actually love the R line and what it gives. In my country the cars are very expensive and taigo isn’t to bad.

Big luggage room, way better legroom than t-roc. Not a shitty screen but build in the dashboard. cheap sunroof compared to other cars in that class.

I’m going for the taigo. I’m happy

I've got the 1.5tsi 150 DSG in my golf 7.5 estate. I've previously had a Leon ST 1.4tsi 140 manual with none of the fancy technology. Where that technology cylinder deactivation really helps is cruising at a constant speed. I've seen the trip over 60mpg on a 3 hour motorway journey whereas the Leon would do 48. But in general driving without a long trip there's hardly anything in it with both in the low to mid 40s. So decent but not amazing. The DSG does make life easier and smoother once you learn how to use it. Flooring the throttle will send revs up to 5000rpm which not only causes more delay in having to downshift 3 gears but there's not much at that rev point. Better to press about 3/4 down, will drop to 3000rpm or so and give quickly accessible performance. If that sounds crazy I drove a DSG A4 diesel and it did the same. Shifted down 4500rpm which is nearly at the red line with no power.
More than anything traction is limiting factor on my 7.5 with eco tyres. More power would not help. I'll treat the car to a set of all seasons when these wear out which I've found brilliant in daily use and still had life in them after 30, 000 miles.

The problem for the Taigo is its small tank.

With my 2013 MK7 Golf 1.4TSI I can get from Kent to Grindelwald on one tank cruising at around 64 on a mixture of motorways and A roads.

Why did VW fit such a small tank on the Taigo?

Well done Andrew a very good review I do like the look of the new t roc and the upgrades both outside and in
I’ve always liked the t roc and it has always been a fun car and one you can personalise and having drove one I like the higher seating position it’s good you can still personalise it with lots of configuration options the new dashboard looks much better hasn’t changed much aside the floating screen!
The taigo I don’t really get it seems a car to many to be honest I have seen one when my golf was in for service and didn’t seem very roomy inside as others have said
I like the new black pack and I would probably go for that myself
Personally I would prefer the manual and the Volkswagen six speeder is a very nice positive gearbox I’ve had three now In a row and dead easy to use

23:16 seems to be the VW polo dash board… the screen, vents and trim panel look identical. So many different SUV models as well, but I guess they sell

Great review Andrew. I do like the T- roc R line very much more premium, maybe in my older age I'd considered a T-roc R full flavour of course lol 😆 . Really enjoy this review 😊.

My wife and I went to view the Taigo and it wasn't good. Getting in was a problem as the driver door was small, hit my head and the front windscreen made me feel very claustrophobic. Buying another T-Cross.

Would have been interesting to see the head room in the back of the Taigo
