I’ve got the 1.5 in the earlier version, I’d be surprised if the 1.0 version is significantly more economical. Mine regularly drops into 2 cylinder mode around town . I think the 1.5 version is definitely worth the extra outlay.

One thing to note you don’t felt lined door pockets and stuff, but i picked up a 2023 r-line you get rubber in the door, key holder, cup holders and etc. so at least things don’t rattle around, and the rubber covers on top are easier to clean than felt

We’ve got the new 1.5 R line with the optional 18 inch alloys . We love it and it wipes the floor in terms of drivability with my company Kia Niro plug in hybrid .

So many reviewers open the rear hatch and talk about luggage etc yet refuse to tell us whether or not there is a spare wheel in there 🙄.
No wonder manufacturers are getting away with offering nothing.

I don’t know what prices were in January 2023 when this video was uploaded but £27.000 is starting price in July 2023 and 1.5 L engine with manual gearbox starts at £29.000

I'm wondering how the car in the video has IQ lights and front fog lamps? The UK VW Website won't currently allow you to configure an R Line T Roc with these options, apparently due to the semiconductor shortage.

2:01 "Nice piano black finish" no one likes piano black plastic, it's awful and they should stop using it.

I just got my 2024 1.5 T-Roc. I love it but there are functions I‘ve yet to figure out. It’ll be years by the time I learn most of the functions. My car parks itself for example, I tried it but it freaked me out. The buttons on the steering wheel confuses me. I would love it if you could do a video educating us.

I want to see some some test comparison videos of how long a driver takes his eyes off the road while in heavy traffic to adjust touch screen controls compared to feeling for knobs or switches.
It is illegal tin the UK to even touch a mobile phone while driving but OK to have a greater distraction to adjust say a touch screen to (say) demist the windscreen.
Sorry, I’ll put up with the tacky interior of the older model with its safer controls.

For me, major, major complaint is the speed limiter option, especially in the uk where limits change frequently. Firstly, it requires changing from cruise control to limiter every time the engine is started. Secondly it’s so complicated to use I have to ask the passenger to overlook my shoulder to use.
Previous car was a 20yr old merc. Acc and limiter was on an extra stick on the steering wheel. Switch between each by pressing the tip of the stick in. Set speed by flicking the stick up or down. Didn’t have to move eyes from the road. I used the limiter constantly. I can’t use the vw version at all. If I get speed tickets I plan to send them to VW.

Totally agree with previous comment about no spare wheel, if they don’t include one, just walk.

Definitely one of the best SUVS. My grandpa has the 2017 model with the 1.5tsi and the experience version and it’s just great.

I would strongly advise car review sites to include the views of a qualified car mechanic. You will then find that 90% of the cars you rave about will only give problems to private buyers once out of warranty, if not before. VW's give the perception of quality, but will give most people problems.

Just wish @Volkswagen to change those touch buttons to actual buttons like in the Audi Q2 so you don't accidentally click any of those

The interior looks like they used what was left from the Golf 7. And that is a good thing if you don't like the Golf 8.

I have the 1.5tsi DSG face lift, 150bhp enough power when you need it otherwise the 2 cylinder mode kicks in when around Town.

Only issue I have is that the T roc has budget bar suspensions from the Polo. Golf gets independent suspension.
