Bananas are very high in nutrient content. They contain vitamin B, C potassium and fibre. Potassium acts as antacid and bananas have high content of potassium. Bananas can never induce stomach pain. Bananas are very healthy food. In fact people with GERD or acidity problems should start first with bananas. When ingested first thing in the morning, bananas forms a thick coating in the stomach with the thick mucus. So bananas helps in a way to gastritis or acidity or GERD patients. Bananas also neutralise the bacteria in the stomach. They eliminate harmful bacterial growth. They are very soft and solid food. So bananas should be taken first thing in the morning or even before or after the meals so as to help with the acidity problem. Bananas can be taken in combination with other foods as well like banana and strawberry smoothie or banana and avocado smoothie, banana and cinnamon powder. All these herbs and other foods also will help in acid reflux. So eat a banana and stay healthy in GERD.
