I am a middle. Never got set this season, but I got a kill from an overpass and it was my best play ever.

The parents thing is so true! I was trying out my sixth grade year after about a year of playing red league.I was pretty good I think.The team was supposed to keep 20 people (I know it’s a lot but don’t ask me).Only two sixth graders made it.BUT I had seen them play and they were not very great.I mean they weren’t necessarily bad for their first time but you could tell that it was their first time playing or even picking up a volleyball.I mean these girls couldn’t make anything over the net.One tried to set from the 10 foot line and it went straight into the net.The other girl went to pass and swung her arms so bad it hit the ceiling and bounced out. The coach ended up keeping 22 girls (2 more than allowed).Both of the sixth graders who made it had a parent who worked at the school.


tldr:2 sixth graders whose parents worked at the school made the team with no experience whatsoever and 0 skills.

A couple years ago the coach said I didn’t have enough experience to be on a middle school volleyball team. I found that absolutely ridiculous and I still do.

“The only reason why y’all are here is because I knew half of your parents before this” that is so true because in the basketball team in my school the coach just so happened to know these 3 boys’ dad. They were actually friends (btw the boys suck at basketball) so coincidentally all 3 of the siblings just so happened to make the same exact basketball team. The craziest part was that the team was a varsity team and the youngest sibling who was only in 7th grade still made it. Like imagine a 7th grader in varsity…that’s what happened.

What happened to the middle happened to me except I’m left handed, so when I got to high school I had no idea how to pass and had to learn to play opposite 💀. I don’t play back row so basically I’m just on the team for emotional support

Bro, I am usually on the bench, because I am shorter and a little smaller than the rest of my teammates but whenever I am subbed in, I play as an outside hitter, because of how high I jump, and how fast I spike it down to the ground

I need tips for setting because I absolutely cannot set good because I do beach and indoor and I struggle to get the ball on my forehead since I’m so used to beach and for middle school I’m trying out for a setter because only one other person is trying to my out for a setter!😭
