Kei vans and trucks here in Philippines are already converted to left side drive and all of them are from Japan too

Note, Some states WILL NOT let you register them for LEGAL road use.
My buddies friend jesse bought one. He lives in NY. In order to get a plate for it, he had to make an LLC IN MONTANA to register and insure it in MT and get a montana plate. Then he gave to LLC a PO box so any mail relating to anything in the LLC gets dropped there to be REsent back out from the post office once a week to his NY residence.

One of only 2 people to have a Straight from a japanese auction Kei truck legally on the road in our county and the 1st person to get one knows jesse and he told jesse how to get his.

They're legal in Texas. Texas recently signed a law ensuring the right to own and drive Kei trucks.

Blank switch spots to me are only opportunities for imagination buttons as a mechanic and a person that only owns 90's japanese vehicles by choice. Too many of them to be honest. I dont regret any of it haha

It's not difficult to drive in the opposite side, nor change gears with other hand.
But the visibility in some corners are down right dangerous when driving in the unattended side.

I have an 85 300zx with a 3L V6 that gets 32mpg on long trips maintained 80.
No way these don't get better.

Here in New Zealand, we pretty much get all the vehicles

You have the options you install. I don't want options. I want value. Kei trucks give value, .just like the old American trucks did. Just like the Hilux and Hilux Chanp do.

Call your

Can am/kawsaki/honda/john deere. All have a vested intrist in these not being here. I work a farm. These are better than a gator. They cost less than a quarter of a gator. You can buy 3 build a basic hauler. With a roof rack. A fix it service rig with tools and a small welder. And a vegi picking feild truck made for holding bushels. All for the price of a brand new side by side with a 2 foot bed and no licence plate.

They know if every farmer or owner of 20+ acers. Buys this instead. They will never sell another side by side except for toys.

But you could motercycle swap and throw baloon tires and a lift for less. and buy a second one for all the body pannels your gonna smash wheeling it. And its still cheaper

No options, in a Daihatsu. So basically... it never breaks?

Maby in your State.
Even Though you can register as a regular on road driver. Of course, you can't drive it on major interstate, These are made for in town 4 lane highways And two lane roads not high-speed interstates For long period of time Yes, They do make good farm trucks. Not trying to rain on your parade. But these are more safer than a motorcycle, they allow motorcycles to run the freeways all the time, which I know are more Dangerous. There are More people killed On a Motorcycle then A.
mini truck. So if the argument is about these trucks not being safe, then they need to take the motorcycles off the highways to, Not knocking motorcyclist. I know it sounds kind of weird but. What it looks like to me is big Auto corporations in the US don't like the idea of their smaller vehicles being Sold here because it's in competition With there. Electric E.V. domestic vehicles. So they come up with stories to prohibit people from purchasing These vehicles.

You are once more forgeting that it is going to be a major pain in the but trying to find parts for these things in Canada and the US you can not just walk into an O'Rileys or a Napa and ask for parts they will not have a listing

Why not manufacture these same trucks in US.. it would still be 1/4 the cost of big american trucks as its still 1/4 the steel used and 1/4 the number of cylinders in engine.

I still don't understand why don't people import them from e.g. the Philippines where there's tons of these with steering wheel on the left...
