I'd be more than willing to buy this exact kind of truck. I don't need a huge current American truck; their size and amenities aren't needed. Gimme a good, simple truck with a standard transmission that can do highway speeds and I'm happy.

Some states allow side by sides to be registered as road vehicles and these fall in that category. Only restrictions are 55mph and under roads.

In canada these only need to be 15 years or older to be legal on our roads. Im thinking of getting one but cant decide if i want a van version or truck, but this one here is awesome.

in Australia you can get them nearly brand new, like 1 yr old

If you get some 1inch wheel spacers the vehicle is now technicallly over 60inches making it so you no longer have to register it as a kei truck. The suzuki samurai was a 60inch wide kei car based vehicle sold from 85-95 in the USA. I dont think there is any cc requirments for vehicles only speed.

But one, take it apart, ship it to the states in parts, a cab, a box, the chassis with engine, then bring it to the US, stamp the frame vin# with a old truck with clear title's vin number, change the cab vin number, and call it a body change, " it just looks like it's new" 😆 put a old box on it to help pull it off, but definitely say ' you bought it that way' of just get a newer truck send the engine and front and rear suspension, along with the cab, put it in a older truck.
I thought about building one, using a Isuzu cab over engine, like from a box truck, put it on a Chevy 1500 frame, with a custom center section, and a Subaru engine, under the rear of the cab, either a 2.5L boxer with compound turbos, and spool valves, to get near instant boost, a 6 speed transmission, possibly from a Corvette, around '05 model, use c5 front brakes, maybe use the suspension parts, the transmission and diff from 05 vett, for IRS, build a box from a truck bed, around the same as the Chevy truck, 88-08 +/-, just cut the long bed off at the floor, keep the front, reinforce the floor with 2x2" tube steel, build box sides from 1x2" tubing, use 2" angle to reinforce the front of the original bed, with the rear of the frame cut off, just behind the spring shackles, cut the bed to match, only about 3"- 4" longer build a bumper front 1x1" tubing, skin with 18gauge steel, skin the bes sides and new tail gate with the same 18g sheet steel, maybe use diamond plate on the inside, maybe make the tailgate a bi-fold, or tri-fold.
With the sides being 12-14" tall, with 4 hinges on the sides and the tailgate to floor, use another set of hinges to attach another section of tailgate that will be folded down, in front of the tailgate when closed. Lift it up, latch it, using .750" solid steel pins, that fit inside a steel tube, welded through the square tube frame, with handles on each side, the 4 pins can latch the extension flat. Keeping it from closing. Then it can be folded down with the tailgate. With the engine basically being connected to the trans axel, by a very short TQ tube, a Vette used, possibly 12" more or less, use the same style .750" steel pins to latch the sides to the bed front, being spring loaded, with pins to latch the pin in place, do it can't come unlatched by being shook, use 255-275/40-50/20" tires on 20" x 9.5" rims on all four, with air suspension, it should easily carry 3-4 ppl in the seat! With a 6 speed transmission, and about 350-400 HP engine, it would be an awesome little truck,
Maybe build a van to match, use 2-3 cabs together, one placed over the rear axel. With a box like a foot locker behind the rear cab, to hold stuff, and taillights. Weld the doors closed, cut the front of the cab out, in front of the doors, place another cab between the front and rear, weld braces from the front of the rear to the middle, cut the front and rear of the cab out. With bracing between. Do the same to the front cab and middle cab, after braced
Start welding 20 gauge sheet metal to fill in the gaps, with a roughly 24" tall 30" long box in the rear, with a lid that opens by hinges 'in the rear, above the taillights, with a latch at the cab, with a seat across the rear, and options to add more, probably the truck weighing 2500lbs, and 400-430hp it could be larger than a hijet, maybe call it a maxjet! 😆 I been thinking about this for years, the little trucks getting popular, is making me think even more!! Maybe build one electric, with Tesla motor in it!! The tiny ones!! 😆 That could be insane,

If just had a little bigger engine it would be perfect for many people. This thing struggles if you have to do long distance at low as 100 kmh
