So exiting! This summer is so much better than last years.

The fact that, for instance, the Hubble Space Telescope deep fields have galaxies going off into the distance could prove interesting. Not, only will this deepest image go deeper than ever, but we'll see even further background quasars!

Another really enthusiastic video! Many thanks Chris. At present we just have to be patient, waiting with great expectations to the 12th July. However, you have been able to give details of the nature of the first possible images that will be released and why. A tiny taste of what we can expect from the JWST. Whatever they may be, the view of our universe will be changed for ever. We are certainly living through an awesome time. To know that the JWST has been so perfectly positioned that we can look for to twenty years of unique astronomical knowledge is so exciting for us, and a truly outstanding example of what can be done by combining the various areas of knowledge by those who have already dedicated a good portion of their lives in achieving what many thought impossible.

Yes! Long live JWST! Can't wait. Is there life out there? We are definitely getting closer to finding out.

Chris, do you think some astronomers will get JWST time to look for that suggestive Planet Nine, or is that far too lacking in importance?

Yes -- I too will be waiting on the crisp images of that Dyson Sphere!

Neither CO2 or ozone are "markers for life". CO2 is extremely common in our galaxy. Ozone itself is an indicator of oxygen in an atmosphere but it does not mean there is life. On our planet free oxygen in the atmosphere is due to photosynthesis, but as oxygen is a common product of stars it too is found abundantly in our galaxy. Detecting ozone in a planet's atmosphere which also has water in the atmosphere (and the planet's temperature can support liquid water on the surface of said planet ) _may indicate_ the planet could support living organisms.

If I was to put money on which exoplanets, I'd put my money on either the Gliese-581 system, or Trappist-1 system.

This is all so much more important than any of the crap happening in our world right now. This is HUGE, and we care more about BS. This could change civilization as we know it. But we're more concerned about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
