you can see the shapes of these galaxies and everything. this telescope is able to zoom in on exoplanets to the point where you can actually see the colour and gas composition of their atmosphere

The images of WASP 96b will be cool. Mostly I'm interested in the NIRSpec and NIRISS Deep Space images and study of the Milky Way's black hole but MIRI and NIRCam's potential life sustainable planet search will be just as interesting.

I don't believe in a personal God, maybe Spinoza's and Einstein's take, but images like this and realizing the scope of The Universe is so mind-blowing and leads to a sort of mystical experience.

Beautiful, exciting, and daunting!

Could have enjoyed the image more if it didn't have a banner OBSCURING part of the image.

As we contemplate the vastness and extent of just a tiny section of the visible universe through Webb, it should remind us of the arrogant hubris we humans have that we're the only sentient beings in existence in all the universe given just a minute sliver of the observed universe seen by Webb.

I'd like them to use it to zoom in on exoplanets and find one that shows the possibility of life

Why does it feel like we just walked into the multiverse the past the present and the future and it's awesome I love it but should we get worried if the telescope goes off of course one day?

All I wanna know was, what it filmed on IPhone 14? I'm debating if I wanna buy it or not.

سبحان الله, it would be even better if the telescope would turn from that distance facing earth and show like the other side looking and showing the future not only the past

The hubble deep field photo has been around since 1995. So you are telling me this is as far as NASA has come? In 27 years!?!? Carl Sagan is laughing

As we look at the world around us and marvel and the delicate balance and harmony which exists from the subatomic realms to that of clusters of galaxies, it's incredibly irrational of so-called intelligent scientists to say this is all a result of some random unguided process. That all of this is merely an accidental perturbation where from nothingness comes existence from nowhere, this incomparable complexity of balance, symmetry, and beauty that early humans would have denied existed on such a scale and magnitude. The finite mind no matter how erudite and discerning with never be able to encompass the infinite. It's irrational to the nth degree to think otherwise.

Just my Baha'i perspective---one that has come to understand the harmony of Science and Religion, and how each complements the other to the rational mind. Something Ayn Rand, Nietzsche, and their peers and ideological descendants lacked/lack.
