As someone who lives in Alaska, oil pan heaters are very common. Its called winterization. Very necessary when the weather can get to -50°. Wait till you see our parking lots that have outlets at every space. A lot of tourists think alaskan vehicles are electric when they see em all plugged in 😂

I feel like Aaron would be a good mentor to work for. He's got that "we don't cut corners; cut corners cost lives" mentality and I dig it.

Ah, memories. Once when I was destitute and homeless, someone gave me a free Volvo if I could get it to start. Which was not the biggest problem, it was just the transmission interlock, I bypassed it and it started right up. The biggest problem was that it had been rear ended which destroyed all the lights. It also killed the headlights somehow, no idea why. I affixed trailer lights to the bumper, went to wire them in, and discovered that someone had snipped that entire part of the wiring harness off. No idea why. Anyway, I'm homeless, got $20 to my name, very limited tools, no multimeter. So, I wire them all to toggle switches that I mounted in a piece of cardboard and taped to the dash. Got fancy and had a three-way toggle with a blinker relay for turn signals. I had to screw a giant button to the brake pedal to get those lights working. Did this all in an Autozone parking lot, I might add. Lived in that thing for like 6 months and put 10, 000 miles on it.

Aaron has a great personality and down to earth way of explaining the black magic of automobile electrical systems.

My dad was a mechanic when he was young, and he said one time, when he was doing work on a car, he had someone helping him who put a wrench on the battery. Thing was right across the posts. He said by the time he noticed it, the wrench was turning orange. Bloody terrifying. Battery almost blew up.

In my aviation mechanic days, I was the primary focal for doing wiring/electrical jobs.
1. Nobody else had the patience/or enough understanding to go through a wiring diagram that sometimes stretched through 13 pages of 11x17in paper.
2. Nobody wanted to touch it, being afraid to short something out or get zapped.

it was quite satisfying in the end, when you're updating an older small airplane with more modern avionics, and you end up with a ton of dead wires that you cleared out, left over from several previous avionics changes.

I really appreciate having someone truly knowledgeable to listen to. Sandro is up there too but Aaron is a true master of his craft. He’s the type of man I would want as a friend

First off the very first video is Junkyard Dave who took a Hellcat and put a Magnum hatch on it. He didn't do a front clip of a charger, he did it the hard way, magnum hatch on a charger. . He carbon fibered a roof, converted it to all wheel drive, 3D printed material and CAD designed parts he needed and painted the car and is working on a custom dash. He's not haphazard and currently has the car running. Know your source material and check out his build first.

When I lived in Alaska we had to put heat pads for the oil, heat blankets for the battery, heat plugs for the block and radiator to keep it from freezing. We'd have to plug it in when we parked.

Aaron always has me rolling when he starts rambling in his situation stories. He's the one homie that can start a full on conversation about something else and have you forgetting what you asked him about.

12:40 As an Australian that looks like an (80s) E series Ford Falcon. Just a guess, but the steering wheel n dash look familiar. Could also just be a Brat.
I'm more of a Holden guy though.

Also was funny hearing "it's right hand rive man" at .25 speed.
