i was thinking that you may want to use light sandpaper to scour the pipe, so the primer/cement would hold better. i take it that's unnecessary?

lol primer. Just skip it & put glue on the fitting & pipe. Also, that clear glue is BS. Use the blue for cold, orange for hot. Better glue.
