Using Apiguard for Varroa Mite Treatment

preview_player
Показать описание
How we use Apigaurd as a varroa mite treatment and how we check for mites using a Varroa EasyCheck alcohol wash.
Please note that although in this video we show the EasyCheck being shaken, it is more effective to swirl the container so mites will settle to the bottom, which is what we normally do.

Bob, near the beginning you said that you “got side tracked”, I enjoy listening to you speak about the bees so please feel free to get side tracked anytime in your videos!

This video would have been helpful about a month ago. I lost a little over 20% when I gave full dose and tells where in the 90s. I had one colony with 7 in the wash, all the others had 0-3 in the wash. I killed some good queens.

I’m excited to here you speak in person at the hive life conference. Thanks for all your great videos.

Always great info Bob, we always refer our customers to professionals such as yourself and Kamon. You still love what you do. Sharing your knowledge helps others be better beekeepers and keep their bees alive. Your "rambling" as you call it, are great tid bits of info. Have a great one, see you in Jan in Sevierville TN

I’ve been following your advice from last years video using apivar to get the bees ready. I appreciate the apiguard video as well so I can switch it up.

I bought those same frame feeders after seeing it on your videos. Boy do they work slick. Sure beats those small jars I was using.

We are just pulling our supers off this weekend. We have a section of 2nd cut alfalfa on one side of our apiary and a lake on the other side so we have a great food source. Most apiaries in our area or northern alberta are in dearth . Knock on wood we have a great rancher that allows us to house our apiary on his 25000 acre ranch.
Great video guys!
