I truly imagine that if Adam had tried to pause at the wrong moment in this episode, Sarah would have straight up slapped his hand away lmao. Also I really adore how Yamaguchi and Tsukishima's relationship is very understated compared to a lot of other aspects of the show, but it still runs so strong

"just one block" scene is one of my fav moment, Tsukki is really a player who is developing. and shirabu's "HUH" reaction is the most satisfying reaction in the whole series😂

I love how Adam said “that’s the best feeling in volleyball” and then it became THE moment for Tsukki🥹 also I love how much Sarah represents us, she’s so real😭

This episode reminded me how normally at the episode recordings Tsukishima’s voice actor, Ucchi, would be asked to sit out during all the pieces with Karasuno’s cheers as a team, since Tsukki wouldn’t normally join those — can only imagine how good it must’ve felt to get such an important scream all to himself here, and with such a wonderful setup. A timeless episode for sure, was all teary-eyed with Sarah :”)
Also, the “point worth 100 points” is actually a reference to a conversation between Kuroo, Hinata, and Lev, which Tsukki happened to overhear at the training camp. Lev asked Kuroo if he could stop Ushiwaka, and, to the shock of both Lev and Hinata, Kuroo said that he could maybe stuff him once every 10 spikes — he doesn’t know Ushiwaka as well as Bokuto, and Ushiwaka is playing on a different level. Then he started explaining different situations where one point could turn the momentum and become very important, hence “worth 100 points”, but he was working so hard to sound cool that he seemingly lost his own train of thought there x) Tsukki didn’t seem to really understand it at the time but he was listening carefully.

33:12 For the fans, I hope you get Adam's point here. Yes, you were not spoiling him, but you were influencing his expectation for the episode. It's like telling someone to watch this movie and also telling them that there's a great twist near the end. I hope you know what I am saying.

I love the patience the mangaka had when creating this series. This moment was 3 seasons in the making for Tsukki, slowly building his character and giving him little nudges with interactions, and it really paid off. I just hope we as a community can stop hyping up future episodes so Adam can go in blind.

Tsundere is a Japanese term used to describe a character with an initially harsh personality who gradually reveals a warmer, friendlier side over time.

I love how Sarah looks at Tsukishima empathically as a player, while Adam is more coach oriented and you can almost see his brain thinking "Finally! Now what I could do with a player like this?"

Just realising that Tsukki's story arc resembles his play style. Slow and steady and mellow with a HUGE pay-off

I love Tsukki's, "yeah, great job, king" it feels like the first time he genuinely praises him as being a "king" of the court.

shout out to Yamaguchi for being THE true halo around Tsukki's moon because Yamaguchi was definitely the one to instigate the change in Tsukki, and has consistently believed in his friend.

shout out to Asahi for always giving Tsukki little compliments and letting him know that his work is appreciated every time Tsukki, being Tsukki, is down on himself.

and of course, shout out to Bokuto for being the dispenser of life changing advice, dishing out pure brutal wisdom that cemented Tsukki's change in perspective about volleyball. (this is why I still don't understand how people see Bokuto as a dumb himbo. he literally looks like an owl, the animal symbol of wisdom)

You may already know this episode, but Tsukishima's voice actor, Kouki Uchiyama, had been coached to keep his emotions in check even when other members were happy or sad up until this scene. He said that this emotionally happy scene made him feel like he was an official member of the Karasuno team for the first time😂

I actually really appreciate the way Adam and Sarah contextualized the play. It didn't highlight individual athleticism, it didn't highlight teamwork, it didn't quite highlight perseverance or exceptional hard work (although they're part of the success we saw). No, it highlighted the most Tsukishima thing ever: his intellect.

Absolute cinema.

29:40 that is actually such a funny point that I never thought about. The guy was absolutely crushing them all game long but people only care about the upset moment.

Now that we’ve hit this episode I got a question for Sarah/Adam!

Have you ever played with a quiet player like Tsukki and witnessed their moment of getting “hooked on volleyball” IRL either as a player or coach? How did it impact you and the team?

I just can't watch Tsukishima's "This is just a club" without crying. What a beautiful scene for a lovely and well written character
