Adam is in for a ride with these matches if he's already this hyped up just off the trash talk alone 😂😊

"He yawns - and makes his dig."

Has to be one of the coldest insult to a hitter that I've ever heard.

It was mentioned earlier so I don't think it's a spoiler: Shiratorizawa ranks about top eight at nationals. (~50 teams at nationals)

You two are both pretty spot on about Ushijima's line about unfound confidence, but just to add to that:
Remember that Ushijima was pumped up about Hinata challenging him back in S2E1. During that whole interaction, Ushijima was sizing them up, and they passed every one of his metrics. He was impressed! He was looking forward to a great match.

And then this first set happens, and Hinata barely plays at all, and sucks pretty badly when he _is_ in. What a letdown.

Adam is basically in his decent-coach mode when watching Haikyuu. But every time there's trash talking popping up on the court, he switches to high-school boy mode in a second😂

For Ushijima, yes, he is not that polite but also he is not trying to be rude. For him, it's all just a matter of fact.

Adam: "...you would make a point of kicking the snot out of that person."
Sarah: <shakes her head disapprovingly> "100%" lol
Love it when Sarah is so reluctant to acknowledge her meaner competitive side 😆

I really appreciate that you guys have a keen insight into Ushijima's personality and intentions! Most people would just quickly and automatically put him in the "arrogant prick" box and leave him there without genuinely thinking about how Hinata's actions look to someone as experienced and skilled as he is.

I also like that you acknowledged that Hinata isn't quite there yet, and honestly, I'm proud to say that, in general, the Haikyuu fandom would agree with you there. It's just simply facts! Yes, he's the protagonist, and yes, we're seeing this story through his point of view, but I think it's good to acknowledge that, as of now, he's not that good yet, but he has a lot of potential and room to grow. That makes Haikyuu so exciting to watch - seeing how they all grow and achieve their maximum potential!

After two seasons of the show building up Ushijima to be almost an inevitable force of nature, it's crazy how when we finally get to see him play he manages to EXCEED all of the hype.

Sarah’s very invested “garbage can” analogy narration really took me out xD Also living for the Ushijima appreciation

I love Tendou so much. He is so good at getting in their heads.

Now I’m looking forward to Adam and Sarah’s season 3 draft picks, because I just KNOW they’ll be fighting for Ushijima lmao

Is it just me? I have never seen Adam this gleeful yet? Lol

To answer Adam's question, at this point all we know is that Shiratorizawa made the quarterfinals at nationals last year

From Utijima to Uchijima... Adam is getting there. Lol

chaotic suga has always been a thing :)) sure he is a team player, very kind and understanding of everyone but he's also chaos hidden under a mask of angel. I knew this boy was all degrees of silliness the moment he greeted everyone violently when he subbed in for kageyama in that first seijoh match. or even earlier, the first time hinata and kageyama met kiyoko when they were banned from the gym, suga let kiyoko in before instantly slammed the door in their faces with the derpiest look on him.

This is such an enjoyable episode. From the volleyball insights to the readings of personality, Sarah and Adam are offering SO much value on top of what is already an excellent show 😂

18:02 I find it so endearing that Sarah doesn’t initially realize Adam was trying to get her to talk about how she felt in top-level play, and how that relates to what the show portrays for players in the top 1% of the global volleyball scene. She’s such a Kageyama! 👑

I want a season ender edit of just Sarah's eyes. Her spoiler-ish eyes are hilarious.

Good observation, Adam!! The Shiratorizawa volleyball team are "big boys" because of the head coach's approach and mindset to the game.
