United States was predicated on
Freedom of Religion which includes freedom from Religion to me. Atheist & agnostics are American too.

I am a Christian and a constitutionalist. The separation of church and state is essential to the survival of both institutions.

It's gotten worse. Not that there's any new believers because that declines every day, but they're just more loud and obnoxious. People being complete a$$holes and saying they have Jesus on their side...I'm like wtf

Jesus is Christianity exemplified and he hung out with and loved the weak, rejected, poor, sick and helped them. He didn't seek political power and wealth. In fact he warned these people.

Separation of Church and State. Freedom of Speech and Religion. You have the Freedom to Worship as you please as long as You don't destroy public or private property.

Which brand of "Christianity" gets to be in charge and who gets to decide?

Trying to talk sense into Reaganites and the "moral majority, " who was neither, was like pounding your head into a wall. It feels good when you stop. Christians and christian nationalists were bad in the 30's and bad now

I hope that the christian nationalists would consider John Adams one of this nation's founders. He signed the Treaty of Tripoli in 1799, which a Senate super majority had ratified in June of 1797. Article 11 of that treaty states, "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion..." Saying it was founded on Christian morals is as far from the truth as a lie can get. It was founded to escape religious persecution, not to promote it.

Amazes me that there are actually people who would watch A Handmaids tale and think “ that’s how our society should be.”

I believe in freedom of religion and the separation of church and state to help I sure that. I do believe Christian Nationals do not act like Christians but definitely do act like bullies.

In reality, a number of the key American Founders were neither Christians nor deists, but theistic rationalists. Theistic rationalists believed in a powerful, rational, and benevolent creator-god who was present and active in human affairs.

I live in a town of 500 people.
Two churches have closed in the last few years.
This seems to be a trend everywhere. As it should be.

We still have separation of church and state. Anyone who does not support our constitution should leave. Religious corporations should pay taxes as well as wealthy corporations and people who can afford to hire lawyers to evade paying taxes.

The threat of anyone I disagree with gaining power is very real. Be afraid. Be scared. Then let me tell you what to think.
