In many ways, the 2022 Honda Civic marks a return to glory for a small sedan that’s really come to define the segment over the years. Not that the outgoing version was a bad car, but its timing certainly was. Its launch some six years ago put it at the forefront of the segment with touchscreen infotainment and advanced safety features.

The 2.0l is still the way to go, especially if you live in Canada East.

What do you think is the easiest colour to maintain SGP, White or Meteor Grey?

Do not buy these cars until they take off their greed fee. $30, 000 for a economy car it's totally ridiculous. Wake up people

As a young man, I purchased a Hyundai for my family car. It was affordable and about the only choice I had at the time. When I got RID of that thing I promised myself and my wife never again. They have done nothing in the year's since to change my mind. They have done plenty to reaffirm my contempt. Why someone would believe that the cars they make today are going to be any different. I guess if you never had one you might fall victim to their hype. I replaced that pos with a 94 Civic then 2004 followed by 2012 and now 2022. I did go for the hatchback this time. It's everything I thought it would be and if I had to pay $1, 500 over MSRP at least it's not a Hyundai.

Sure a Honda Civic is more expensive than a Hyundai Elantra, but go drive a 10 year old version of both and you’ll see where the Honda shines. A friend of mine bought into the Hyundai hype and his Santa Fe with the 2.0 turbo is junk. Vehicle is falling apart and is only 5-7 years old….and it wasn’t cheap to buy either. Hard pass on the Hyundai!

Dan, As always, I enjoyed the heck out of your review. After seeing last week's Corolla Hybrid's stunning fuel efficiency I have one request for Honda Canada- please make a 75 mile per (Imperial) gallon Civic in Alliston, Ontario.

Nice curb scuff marks on the wheels Dan. see frame 0:25/13:01 The 2022 Civic Touring MSRP in July 2021 was $28, 300 USD plus $995 Destination & Handling then in 2022 MSRP had risen to $29, 150 USD plus $1, 095 Dest. & Handling. ($30, 245). Depending on if it had Special Color add $325. You could always negotiate on MSRP as a Dealer Invoice is roughly $3, 000 minimum below MSRP. Squeeze out another $500 in savings if you could negotiate. But as the pandemic prevailed and dealership lots dried up of new cars, most people could not barter on MSRP. Trade-in is always a scam as you often lose a lot of money and rarely get a good or fair bargain. It's like going to the pawn shop. Never Lease a vehicle unless you have a business write-off or just don't care as you have extra money to splurge in which you don't want to deal with repairs after 3 to 5 years. Most vehicles depreciate in value, they are one of life's worst investments. Price in Canada is higher than in the United States however, Canada may have heated steering wheel and heated rear seats which the U.S. model/trims typically does not get. Toyota Corolla is a step backward as the only 2 things going for Corolla are having an asperated engine and a bit less cabin noise. The 2022 Honda Civic was voted #1 as North American Car of the Year and was one of three finalists in Motortrend Car of the Year placing as runner-up. The alternative car would be the Mazda 3 as long as you are not claustrophobic and do not have rear seat passengers due to lack of room.

*Honda Civic is the same size as old Honda Accord, Honda should keep the same civic size as in the 1990's 2000's, that was the whole point of the Civic easy to park, small, great on gas*

Oil dilution question is still on my mind. The only thing holding me back either that or spend 3000 dollars and get the 8 year 200k extended warranty.
