Hey, promised's writer here, I'd like a moment to talk more about the concept of writing and the game as a whole.

I'm glad you liked it, it was at the beginning of my writing apprenticeship that I started making these dialogues, and I'm really glad you noticed Sans' simplicity and more to-the-point personality. Many say that it doesn't sound much like Sans because he doesn't use his jargon and slang more often, but I think that for a lore where a child starts killing a people and sees that the one who made the promise feels a bit torn between doing the right thing or keeping the promise, I think the reason for the simplicity and directness is already evident.

It's not as difficult as most fangames, although yes, there are some injustices and things that don't make sense, but it fulfills its purpose very well in a forceful way, so I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately I don't like the writing of this game because it's very old and could easily be improved if I wanted to rewrite it, but I think I'll stick with what you've got so far.

Nice vid I can think of a couple of reasons why the attack patterns are the way they are 1. He lazy
2.He might be saving his stronger attacks later like the ones in the original fight
3.I think he wants to just talk and not to kill you

Pretty sure sans is very unprepared for this fight so thats prob what the devs were going for in the attack patterns, hence most attacks are reused and out of place (whether they're his own or his bros)

I always loved promised, the music and the gameplay were so smoth, easily top 5 favorite fangame.
