Sans Is Actually TALL?! #lumpdump #shorts

HUGE NEW DISCOVERY! Sans Undertale is really tall?!

Undertale has been out for a while, and we always assumed that Papyrus was the tall brother. Looks like we were wrong! Lumpy Touch (me) used his incredible pixelart skills to peek between the pixels of Undertale and made an insane discovery: Sans is the tallest of them all!

This would explain his iconic catchphrase "i'm not overweight, i'm undertall" as a reference to his original height

This is an interesting one: Toby originally meant to make Sans this tall, but ended up deciding later that it worked better if there was more of a height disparity between him and Papyrus as a thematic mirror to their brotherly relationship. Rather than needing to redo all the sprites from scratch he just shrunk them down to save on time.

One of the interesting thing about all this is the famitsu interview in 2020, where he revealed he originally wanted to make Sans the tall one and papyrus the little one, because Sans is the older brother, but thought it'd be funnier if it was the other way around. He also had a Famitsu Column in 2019 apparently that also reflects this.
