Hypothetically speaking, it would be cool if you scrolled back up and tapped on that like button!

Awesome vid dude! I've been avoiding keyframes for almost a year because I had no idea what they were. This was super helpful.

5:21 _The reason why we are doing this is because Shotcut won't allow us to make a new keyframe with preexisting position values._

Yes, it does allow you to do that. Look to the left of where those keyframes are. You'll see 4 buttons. A left arrow, a clock, a trash can and a right arrow. The clock is what you press to add a new keyframe "with preexisting position values". The left and right arrows jumps to the next keyframes and the trash can deletes the keyframe that you have selected.

You sound like Bucky Roberts of "The New Boston" YouTube channel, who I've learned lots of programming from, 10-15 years ago. Nice video here, btw- I'm learning about Shotcut, and while most of the functionality of this video editor is intuitive, some is not! Thanks for the help.

Shotcut as a free program helps a lot of content creater! However, especially in the beginning it is quite hard to get into it. For this reason, such videos are tremendously helpful for everyone!

The keyframe topic took me hours to really find out how it works XD

Great video man. Something I learned was that key frame tab at the bottom, I had no idea! I always redo the key frames when I need to adjust them, because I didn't know how to get back to them 🤦🏻‍♂️. Thanks a lot! 👍🏼

Hey, good tutorial! I slowed a video to 0.75x and then added a set of keyframes on it. Now, when I speed up the video back to 1.0 x speed, the keyframes do not take up the new timestamp positions, but stay in their old position timestamps. Is there a way to put the set of keyframes for the new video speed (move keyframes along with the video length, as video speed is modified) I am using Shotcut version: 22.04.25. Any help is appreciated!

I have been using Shotcut for about a year now and love the program. I have not used keyframes as of yet. Nothing in this video made any sense (to me anyway - it was clearly understood by others). I still don't understand what the heck keyframes are....????

Is there a way I can quickly randomize keyframes? I want a flickering opacity effect, but I want the flickering to be random and organic, similar to a flickering light.

I'm guessing the image file has to be something like a png file which has an alpha channel in it, so you get the transparent background behind the image you want to animate. Is there anything you have to do so shotcut recognizes transparency in images?

Now I just starting using Shotcut 3 weeks ago after several ones too complex and several others too simple and restricted. I so far love Shotcut and have learned a ton. However, I can't figure out Keyframes to save my life. My software for Keyframes is totally different version 21.08.29 . I when I hit Keyframes get "[ } { }" only at the bottom and see nothing like your video. Do I have it setup wrong or is something glitched?

When you delete transitions, why does shotcut always change the length of the previous clip? That is so annoying. Now I have to trim the clip again.
