Alright, so I did say that I would make a New Updated Tutorial on How to add Text using Shotcut with the new text feature so let's get to it!

Today we are going to be using the new text filter that Shotcut has released a while ago and I am going to show you how to use it. The Text: Rich filter is a new implementation that makes adding text in your videos more convenient and easier than before!

Weird to have to split a clip to be able to position a text over its part. What if I want to overlay a moving text over more than one clip?

Just took on learning Shotcut today after saying goodbye to another editor that crashed a lot. I want to thank you for your excellent sparse and fast tutorial. I had watched someone else's video prior to this one. Unlike the other creator, you just cut through the crap and got down to it. I appreciate that as I just needed to add some captions. Thank you for the video. Very well done. However, what if I do not want to create a text overlay? I'm used to editors where a text can be created in the timeline with a transparent or black background. I find it odd that it's not an option with Shotcut (that I can find). Thanks again for the info.

You are too good at shortcut, I used davinci resolve in my lapee however it's low end lapee hence moved to shortcut . I have been searching best shot cut tutorials. You are the best 🎉🎉

I've got videos with a ton of 2-5 second "chops" jumping around and need text to span 10-30 seconds over them all
