University students are being caught using ChatGPT and other AI software to cheat on exams and assessments.

The University of Sydney recorded more than 300 instances of apparent plagiarism last year using artificial intelligence.

This is according to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Experts believe that figure could be a small portion of cases.

Institutions are looking to tackle the misconduct with new anti-plagiarism tools.

In all fairness, you can't blame technology, you can only blame idiots giving students access to it.

I used it to cheat on my employer's mandatory DEI training.

Education = Quickly now, start learning how to cheat better before someone does it before you.

How to combat all this?
Assessments done ''old school''.
Simple.

Exams and all these BS tests now are completely redundant thanks to AI. If you have a question or need something done, just ask an AI. Problem solved.

the case for most students AND TEACHERS=toilet paper diplomas (and it has been happening for many years, way before AI)

No student can land a job after uni except the graduates from Usyd, UNSW, Melbourne Uni, ANU or sometimes from Macquarie. Employers attitude towards new grads explicitly indicates degrees are just the receipts for the education and they are meaningless in employer eyes unless you have experience. Graduate roles requires atleast 1 years experience and Australian universities are nowhere close to accepting students could learn something from AI. Rather than considering AI as a tool for their students to excel instead they look at AI as their competitors. Usyd from the 1900s along with other universities has the same approach towards education. Instead of getting students more involved in subject matter and giving chance to even Bachelor students to get involved in a bit of research they would rather push them to the extent where a student has to outsource the assessments. At the end of the day, the student is left with HECs debt and no degree in their hand. Maybe that's why we have more electricians than electrical engineers, more without degree sales men than startup founders with PhDs. Our education system has failed because of universities like Usyd, UNSW uni, Melbourne Uni and other universities just follow what Go8 (top 8 unis of Australia) would do.

Harsh reality but true

At my university the professors even encourage the usage of GPT. They say "Use it as much as you can, the tasks you will have in the near future will be so complex that you won't be able to solve them without the help of AI"

How can use the chatgpt to ruin your career or how can you use chatgpt to detect you plagarize.

If the universities were so smart, they'd EASILY come up with a solution with those big brains they supposedly have. Maybe we can replace universities with AI 😂

Uni is a waste of time anyway. Start investing in something and become Rich off it. I’m 18 and make 37k a month through crypto. Instead people waste their time at uni and others get crappy pay 9 to 5 jobs. Amd they wonder why they can’t afford anything. Manybw work harder
