Wired should ask the Teacher to grade that homework without knowing if who answer was a real or an AI student.

This video taught me something I knew a long time ago: English teachers either give you a C+ or an A 😂

Imagine actually having read the whole play and the price is your teacher immediately suspecting you of cheating and calling you in after class

Should have done it as a blind test, to much bias on the grader as they know it’s an AI

how does WIRED find experts who exactly encompass what we feel like these experts should be?

The fact that he makes up the number of the grade based on how he feels is just like I remember English in high school. It always felt like my teachers just made up the grade on the spot and now a few years later, I have evidence that this is indeed the case 😅📸

Ok, I feel like Wired hired an actor to play the most cliche teacher ever, and I have to say... good job

This should be a continued show, I’d totally watch different teachers reacting to chat gpt specifically in this format.

I wanted the other way around. Have ChatGPT grade homework made by students.

We had a discussion about chatGPT in English class today, I look forward to showing my teacher this. There were a lot of different takes on the topic, which this either proves or denies.

This teacher is harsh ngl. A C grade is nearly failing. I pray for his students...

I would quit school if I had him as a English teacher lol

"My students consider me tough but fair"
Guarantee his students think he's a hardass.

Something worth keeping in mind is that, presumably, these responses were primarily based on a single prompt. A student could easily point out a few mistake and/or be more specific with what they would like to be generated in order to get a far more impressive response.

The craziest thing about ChatGPT poetry is that it can extract abstract meaning. I once gave it half a sonnet I wrote, and it finished it perfectly with the original theme/meaning.

I know he's leaning into the role of stereotypical high school teacher, but this is all too real for one of my English teachers....

One of the first funny prompts I gave ChatGPT was to write emo poetry about calzones. And it nailed it. Truly.

Salty, gooey, and oh so warm,
A calzone is my comfort in a storm,
Folded and sealed, a perfect little pie,
But inside, my emotions still run high.
I take a bite, the cheese stretches out,
But my heart is heavy, there's no doubt,
The dough is soft, the sauce is bold,
But my feelings are a story yet untold.
I finish the calzone, feeling full and sated,
But the emptiness inside has not abated,
I wipe my mouth, and toss the crust aside,
Hoping that someday, my heart will reside
In a place where joy and peace can be found.
Until then, I'll turn to calzones when I'm down,
A temporary solace, but one I hold dear,
Until the day when my heart is clear.
