Informative video, exactly what I was looking to know. I'm actually quite surprised they don't add the traffic control to the basic autopilot. It seems more like a safety thing than an additional feature. I get paying more to have the car navigate on highways, and paying even more to navigate on city streets. But to have the car know that you're running a red light or a stop sign and not stop is basically asking to cause an accident.

If you've been driving on the highway for an hour or two on basic autopilot, no matter your best intentions, I bet your mind would start to wander. For the last couple hours it hasn't had to really concentrate on driving. Then all of a sudden there is a stop sign/traffic light. If there is no car ahead of you, it blows through the intersection. Then you crash into a car at highway speeds, or they crash into you.

What's Tesla going to say to that? Sorry your loved ones died, our car knew it was running a stop sign but the driver didn't pay extra so the car didn't stop. At the very least the car should behave the same as if the driver had taken their hands off the wheel for too long, pull over, stop the car, and put on the hazards and refuse to continue until the driver shows they are paying attention again.

Thank you. After 3 months i realized, in slow traffic, i don't have to apply break ... it slows down, and stops too is the car infront of me stops.

But it wont stop ar red light when there is no car infront of me.
I have standard autopilot. No FSD or EAP.

Great video! 👏👏👏 One question: if you are arriving to a red traffic light and the Tesla stops itself after another vehicle, how long can the other car be stopped so that the Tesla starts again by itself? In my VW Golf, it is 3 seconds, and if it is longer, I have to press the "Resume" button on the steering wheel or press the accelerator. Thanks! 👍

The standard autopilot does not stop for red traffic lights. Only stops when the vehicle ahead of you is stopped.

Do you have any of the Autopilot upgrades or is this just the standard one? If you DO have any upgrade, which of the features you showed, wouldn't work for the standard Autopilot? Thanks

Was driving last night and it wasn't going to stop. Very dangerous. Had to brake very hard
