One thing I using the entire broccoli for, is pesto! I just do a basic pesto, yk, pine nuts, basil, oil, lemon, salt while the broccoli is roasting in the oven. When it's finished, I throw the stems into the pesto, pulse that quickly, cook up some pasta and serve it with the florets and the pesto. Sososososo good! Gotta try!

Inside tip from an Instacart shopper put that you don’t want produce bags on the suggestion/request for each item. It takes longer on your end but it will ensure that the shopper sees it because if you put it in the shopping notes they don’t see it till check out. Or text them directly.

If you are texting them, well they just suck.

I literally JUST diced up my broccoli stems and was so proud of myself for eating them up instead of chucking them. I sauteed them with diced zucchini, onion, garlic, tomato, and field roast sausage.🥦💚 Also, when it comes to oat milk, I love Oatly most, but I just learned that, at least in my area, oat milk is the most expensive plant milk in the store. But it would be THE cheapest to make from scratch because oats are so affordable. So I bought some cheesecloth and I'm so excited to give it a go. Trying to pinch pennies over here so hopefully the homemade oat milk tastes just as good 🤞

In my area plastic bags are recycled into park benches.

I have been using instacart since before the pandemic and I think they have gone up on prices but I need the servicce because I am a single working mom. So its very convenient but yeah the plastic bags and all the bad produce choices is hard. I have been given rotten fruit or the greens look wilted, but I deal with it. I also try to limit my shopping to one store like Wegmans because they have more Vegan and Vegetarian foods also the produce is better.

Greatful to be alive! The struggle is real being Vegan and quarantined.... Thank God for frozen produce.

I’ve been doing a lot of stress baking, so all the random bags I have laying around have been perfect for freezing bread and other things I’ve been making!

I've been obsessed with using Thrive and Imperfect Foods, then I get everything else I need from the grocery store when I have to go for my prescriptions. This is the cheapest, least time consuming and least stressful way I've found to grocery shop!

I always use the broccoli stalks in my vegetable soup. I finely chop them and they taste good. They freeze well too, so you can keep them in the freezer until you have a dish you can put them in.

Yes oyster mushrooms!! Haha I tried them for the first time in Taiwan (and I’ve been obsessed ever since) and haven’t been able to find them in the states where I live. I’m gonna keep looking. 💗💗

Thank you for the Flaxseed, Ezekiel bread tip, your chewing was cute, I will check it out. It’s been a great exceptional strawberry season, your video made me grateful for my CSA farm box. Just bought a jar of Golden latte paste from Happy Girl and made a tea with coconut milk and I was in heaven! Rancho Girdi has heirloom beans that haves turned me into a bean snob. I’ve been Vegan for 8 months tomorrow and your documentary Invisible Vegan and YouTube channel has been a huge part of my journey. I love you!!! 🌺 thank you for your content...

I use those produce bags for my small garbage cans (like my bathroom garbage). I do try to avoid them but lately it is hard to avoid. I use small flowerpots as garbage in the bedrooms and use those really little bags from bread, wraps, etc for those trash cans.

Thanks for the tip about the Manna Bread. I decided to order it as the treat for the week, along with fresh peaches. I dice up broccoli stalks for sautes or crudites and use the rough, wooden bits of the stems in veggie broth. Trying to use the whole plant!
