Have you ever tried finding the full ingredient-list for your cleaning products? It is almost impossible to find out what our cleaning products are made from which means that we have no power in choosing what’s best for us and our families.

Minimising the amount of cleaning products you use, and choosing better non-toxic and natural alternatives means a healthier and more eco-friendly cleaning routine.

In this video I share swaps you can make for a more minimalist, non-toxic and natural cleaning cabinet. This means that your home will be cleaner, the air in your home will be fresher, and you’re reducing the amount of toxins in your home!

I’ve been cleaning this way for the past 10 years and I now love cleaning. Me and my husband have a very simple cleaning routine which consists of very few cleaning products.

Hi! 🫧 All the shots of toxic cleaning products we're filmed in the house where we are currently house sitting - meaning not my stuff, but very useful for this video! Do you have any questions about non toxic cleaning? 🧼

Opening windows at opposite ends of the house is called “cross ventilation”, and you’re right, it’s the best way to air out your house.😊

I didn’t know that information about microfiber cloths. I had bought some a couple of years ago to replace paper towels. Now I know. I won’t throw them away, but I’ll use them until they’re worn out.

Don’t forget that vinegar should not be used on granite or marble countertops tops. It ruins them!

Thank you for this inspirational video! So many of your videos I find so inspiring; I have been a vegetarian most of my life, since I was 12 years old-maybe I should instead consider veganism as an alternative, and a healthier way to eat. But this video made me realize how we tend to think it's just easier to buy the bad chemical-laden stuff, rather than taking the time to find, or make, our own...laziness is not any kind of an excuse for harming our waterways, air, and ourselves. Often I have bought cheaper body lotions and the like, just because of money. That is sooo bad for me! And sooo bad for the environment! Like our skin does, the Earth, in a sense "absorbs" these harmful chemicals. I am a traditional medicinals person, never taking any synthetic chemicals found in so many conventional medicines, so why would I ever use crud on my skin? I should know better, and do better. Thanks again! Oh, and I do think it might be great if you could make a video that can reveal more of the bad stuff behind cosmetics and things like that, and maybe then more people will open their eyes. One last thing for now...I think maybe you were talking about "cross ventilation" as the word/words you were looking for in English.😊💖

Baking soda and vinegar cancel each other out…….

On another note, I'm a migraine sufferer and fragrance is a big trigger. I no longer can handle ANY scented candles. It's so hard going to other people's houses who are burning them. My husband will often discreetly ask them to put them out, and why, and of course they are more than happy to do it. And I don't feel embarrassed because I don't even know they talked about it. Reeds in oil, candles, plug-ins, very strong cleaning products (even hand soaps), clothing detergents, and more, can start a migraine. I'm a preschool teacher, and some of those kids come into the classroom in a cloud of fragrance from soaps, lotions, clothes detergents, hair products, and yes, even their parents' perfumes and colognes. My nose will run like crazy, and I end up with a headache. I can go on and on, but you get the point. It's hard living in a fragranced world when you're allergic to it :( I know there are many out there like me, but we never speak up because we don't want to impose on others.

While white vinegar and baking soda do help cleaning they are best used individually. Vinegar is an acid. Baking soda base.

You give such practical advice, Saga, and I love the way you recommend switching things, and not just quitting things, because it is so much easier that way.

Luckily for me, I love the smell of the vinegar spray. That smell is my definition of a clean smell, maybe because that’s what my mother used.

Thank you for making the world better in such practical and ethical ways. 🙂

I am almost 70 and have congenital COPD. The smells of chemicals can and does often trigger breathing episodes. I cant even shop near the candle, perfume, bar soap, or laundry soap eisles in the store. It is difficult if not impossible for me to go into some people's home because of smells. I have never used perfumes and even stay away from some essential oils because they are too smelly.

This being said, I love a clean home and find that water is an excellent cleaning medium. I use natural soap to make water "wetter". All detergents do is break down the water's viscosity as does natural soap. I have started in the last few years using more vinegar and baking soda. Be careful not to use washing soda as it is highly alkaline and toxic.

I do not use any soap or lotions on my skin. As I am an extremely fair skinned strawberry blonde, now grey, i was told to never wash with detergent as a child. I also only shower once or twice a week. I use bar hair soap for my hair and nothing else. Most people do not know that I am 2 months from 70, as I have few wrinkles. If my skin feels dry, i will dry massage it, releasing my own natural oils.

I love your vlog. You are so easy to listen to, and so sincere. Continue sharing the word about veganism, minimalism and non-toxic cleanliness. Your 🇺🇲 Grandma. ❤❤❤😮😮

I use the wool balls and I love ❤️ them: my clothes are less wrinkly and they dry faster. I’m using a little vaporizer thing with essential oils - it smells great, the oil goes a long way, and it has an automatic shutdown you can program.

great advice, just a small but important clarification....Citric acid is preferable to vinegar precisely because vinegar pollutes and is dangerous for the marine ecosystem. In fact, vinegar contains a substance, acetic acid (which citric acid does not contain), which has been found to be highly polluting for aquatic organisms.

Baking soda has myriad uses! Lemons, vinegar, etc. are safe, cheaper and do the job well.

How do you clean floors? Like the bathroom one around the toilet for example. What cleaning supplies do you use: vinegar? Soapy water? A mop? A rag? A steam cleaning device? Thank you for your help

Thank you for this video! I'm always looking for products that don't contain any perfume.
Every time I smell perfume I get nauseous, I can literally smell that it's incredibly unhealthy.
