Me and my husband don't have a car! I find it actually makes life more simple. We don't have to worry about petrol, insurance, rego, if we were to get in an accident, parking etc. So much cheaper too!! We just get by on public transport and it works great! We are lucky to have good public transport in Sydney Aus. :)

I really enjoy your videos. I have gotten into the minimalist lifestyle and have saved over 1000 dollars in 2 months since I began using this way of life. Thank you!

I am the opposite of you and your tip of "store things out of sight." I store things in sight (for the most part). I have a very small space (including hallway and balcony it's 240 square feet) so I have to place items on shelves. I have a few awkward items and seasonal clothing stored under the bed in the space affectionately called the garage. I find if stuff is out of sight, then I am probably not using it.

I was with you the whole time UNTIL you said "gone are the days of having so many bookshelves full of books" 😂 I am a book collector and never never will my minimalism change that lol

Ashlynne, I just realized that the echo in your videos is cause your house and walls are also minimal

Decluttering for me and my family of five is a monthly event. The amount of items we’ve donated, sold, or threw out is astronomical. Probably thousands of items. But just looking around our less cluttered house is so worth it

I am a list person so I make 3-4 priority to-do's for work and for home (2 separate lists) and then under these I have a subcategory for ongoing to-do's that are lower priorities. I hope this suggestion may help someone :) Also Amazon Alexa helps me as I have her set reminders for super important things.

I have to delegate some things because I have MS. I save my energy for the "good stuff" as my Nuero suggested.

Doing tasks that we have to do like cleaning, washing up pots, mowing etc are things we all do whether we want to or not. Not everyone can afford people to do it for us. Also i was taught it is good to do them as it makes you appreciate the fun things more. and was told that we all have to pull our weight around the home.

I agree collect memories not stuff.  Fancy things break and go out of style, but great memories and experiences last a lifetime

Choosing quality over quantity is not only important for making everything more simple, but it really sets you free from having to worry about replacing things. Like imagine worrying about your backpack falling apart every 2 month. If you get a backpack that will last you 5 years instead, you`ll never have to worry about buying another one or even having to treat it with care. It`s really comfortable when you don`t have to take time thinking about objects that you don`t need to think about.

Jammies! I'm originally from NC and it's so cool to hear you talk about stuff from the state. I feel like jammies is a somewhat regional word and I haven't heard it since I was a kid. Jammies!

1. The library can usually find any book at another library in their city/state/regional network and get it for you.
2. Have you used the mass transit system in Charlotte? I work in Charlotte but haven't tried it yet.
