This makes sense! It’s like thinking about a song that you don’t want to have stuck in your head.

Carly, your advocacy will never be invalidated. You're doing so much to spread awareness about Tourette's Syndrome even though it causes you so much discomfort by triggering your tics. People who say it's fake cannot comprehend the extent of your condition and its not your fault. Sending lots of love your way 🤍🤍🤍

Unfortunately, that makes sense. I get the same thing with OCD. Talking about or researching compulsions triggers them. Even the ones I've managed to suppress long ago get sort of reactivated if it's brought up

I thought this was just me, and it made me feel so bad. Thank you for making me aware this is a bigger thing

I was talking to my teacher today about tics and how I struggle with them in class, just to let him know, and he was going on about how there’s no such thing as verbal tics. And I got confused because I’m 15 and I only developed tics within the last year and so my entire mind was shook and I really was like “am I really having a tic?” like what if it’s all in my head and I don’t and I don’t know how to feel until I saw your channel today. I saw that you also have verbal tics and it definitely comforted me that it’s not in my head and my teacher was just uneducated. Thank you love ❤❤

She flipped us off and didn’t even try to. I feel bad for people with Tourette’s syndrome.

edit: i want people to stop liking this. and i also have dyslexia

Another thing that’s bad about having Tourette’s is when you accidentally flip someone off and they don’t know what Tourette’s is so they just think your flipping them off.

I feel you. It’s so annoying when all I want to do is say a few sentences about my ticcs and I trigger them 😭

I agree, I don’t have Tourette’s but I haveADHD and autism which causes me to tick, opening up about it always leads to somebody telling you you’re lying or faking, but keep staying strong bc we are all behind you!!!

I'm glad you talk about it though especially for awareness because if it weren't for you I wouldn't know anything at all. I've learned so much from you and your amazing!

It's like getting a panic attack when you're trying to talk about your anxiety issues and get called a drama queen.

My mom, brother, and I all have tics (not sure if we have Tourette's) and talking about them really is a trigger for tics. The other day I was talking to my mom about ticing and then she just started ticing out of nowhere

Okay I listened to the audio, I’ve been diagnosed not too long ago and sadly they suggested I avoid watching content involving others with Tics so I try my best to

I just wanted to say I get it and I hope the best for you and encourage you to keep spreading your info about it 💖

Reminds me of 'when you feel anxious, stop and acknowledge your anxiety'. Like, how can I not acknowledge it? It's stabbing me in the chest right now. I'm not sure what benefits people get from fixating on the thing that's hurting them 🤷‍♀️ trying to ignore it doesn't work either but focusing on how dysfunctional I am has never worked for me

Same with my ADHD. I'll be talking about some ADHD things I do like auditory stims and then be stuck doing those stims

I don't have Tourettes but my seizure disorder does give me tics and twitches so I know what you're going through. I can't make coffee without throwing the cup or falling on my ass.

I don’t have Tourettes, but honestly barking as loud as I can and in many different ways is my favourite thing to do.

I really appreciate you having the patience and drive to talk about and advocate for yours, and others, tourettes! It's very misunderstood in society, and talking about it in a healthy way, normalizes it in a healthy way!!!

Recently i went to an SEN session, and people go with neurodiversity. The two main people running it had tourettes, and they were setting eachothers tic off, but everyone was understanding
