the reason companies dont do business with cuba even when technically allowed to (like the lift on sactions for food and medicine) is cause the embargo law is purposefully vague and companies would rather not risk it. also any ship that docks in a cuban port is banned from going to a US port for 3 months or something

I’ve known several Cubans in my life and every one of them were fantastic people. We should (U.S.) leave them alone and lift all of the sanctions.

I heard of the embargo, but never realised how bad it truly was.
Now imagine having one of the better responses to the advent of Varus with all this in place. I can only applaud Cuba!

Communist: "Yo, that's not cool" *attacks back*

The US isn’t embargoing food or medicine, if your country can’t survive without a world power literally paying it to exist it probably needs to change up what it’s doing.

First, as someone of Cuban descent, I appreciate this video. Second, ironically enough, the embargo and economic sanctions have only strengthened the hold Castro's government has on the island.

@~1:55, "US trade embargo against Vietnam."
After Vietnamese unification in 1976, until 1994, the US imposed an embargo against Vietnam basically identical to Cuba's.
During this time, Vietnam also had to fight a war in Cambodia against US backed dictator, Pol Pot.
Eventually the Vietnamese people decided they'd suffered enough, and starting in the late 1980s, elected politicians to gradually implement World Bank reforms and transition from a command based socialist economy to a mixed market-command socialist economy.

As a Cuban from Miami thank you for really highlighting how much the Embargo screws Cubans over. If there are any other sources you’ve got on the subject I’d love to learn more about the specifics of the embargo.

What's wild is how Cuba consisently sends humanitarian aid _to the U.S., _ despite how our government has treated their country. The embargo makes zero sense. Cuba is not a threat to the U.S. in any way. The only "threat" is that of a successful socialist nation- something our government simply will not let happen, unfortunately. I am amazed by the resiliency of Cubans in spite of these hardships.

Splendid video I appreciate anytime you feel like uploading and you've been a large inspiration to my own channel. Didn't watch yesterday assuming it was an April Fools joke but I'm glad I gave in. I knew the sanctions were absolutely horrible, I've done a lot of research myself on Cuba and its place in the world, but I never really considered it being considered a genocide and I hadn't known that all but two UN members spoke against it.

This comment is kinda late but other countries were affected by the embargo as well. One example is Bangladesh, they made trade with Cuba so the US sanctioned them. Then came a large famine in 1974, and as they were sanctioned international aid was difficult. All because they traded with Cuba as they needed to make money somehow.
