How To Fix Fast Turn Signal - My Indicators are Flashing Too Fast

To get turn signals (indicators) to flash, there needs to be something in the electrical circuit that automatically switches the turn signal lights on and off when power is applied.

A light bulb creates a load on the electrical circuit. When a lamp blows, there is less load on the electrical circuit. The smaller load causes the electronics (or turn signal relay) to switch on and off faster, thereby causing the turn signals to flash faster.

A turn signal relay (indicator relay or flasher relay) is used in older vehicles. In newer cars, the turn signals are controlled by electronics (usually one of the many circuits buried inside one of the vehicles control units).

It’s likely that a broken lamp will have caused the indicators to flash faster (hyper flashing). But there can be other reasons…

Thankx man, My right indicator start to blink fast. when I checked the rear one is not working and the side and front indicator are flashing fast.

Just replaced the tail lights on my car from halogen to LED and having this problem of blinkers going too fast, however I done the same thing for my headlights and had no problem, would this just require a resistor or could it be something else, thanks.

I had a Citroen Berlingo 2002 and one indicator was broken but it still worked fine

I have rear led indicators and standard halogens on the front. When I indicate the lights flash at a standard normal rate however the dashboard is what flashes too fast

My right indicators are working perfectly but the left clicks fast and there is no flashing of either the front or rear globe. Fast clicking sound but no light. I have checked both globes and they are fine. 🤷‍♂️ Please help!

I have a 2005 fiat doblo, all indicators on the driver side don't work?They don't work by hazard light switch or indicator stalk, all indicators on passenger side are good.
The indicator light on the dash flashes quickly.I have one fault code, b1007, 'incorrect direction lamp'??
The indicators are bcm controlled.If i apply 12 volts with my power probe to any where on the indicator positive wire the bulbs will light, so bulbs are good and this also proves earths are ok.
I am completely stumped!!

Would anyone know what it means when your turning signals (they are leds) only blink fast when the engine is on? They work normally when the engine is off xD
