I remember asking my mom what CC-ing stands for on emails. She said Carbon Copy, just like in the olden times where you stick a special type of paper behind the first one and your typewriter prints on both.

Then I asked her what BCC stood for. It's Blind Carbon Copy, which is the same thing except you have to close your eyes while you type and the second paper comes out in braille.
