I have ADHD, and i lose focus on people that dont explain things simpler. You have a perfect tone of voice and the way you explain things is so simple and knowledgeable

I’ve had my Yeti Microphone for YEARS and this video taught me so much! Including the embarrassing fact that I’ve been talking into the damn thing backwards this whole time. 😹

Blue Yeti arrived 3 days ago and I'm experimenting with recording cello for YouTube; wow, I'm impressed with the sound quality! Thanks for your detailed info on this YouTube!

Thank you, Jason. Not everyone who has knowledge to share is capable of effectively delivering the information in a manner that is so easily understood! Bravo!

Thanks for reviewing this Yeti microphone. I use it for my professional singing(Karaoke cover songs) One extra step I use is a studio setting filter on my Starmaker karaoke singing app. I don't use pop filter on the mic, but use only the side position on a table, next to my phone.

Very nice overview, and great starting points for someone who hasn't used the blue yeti mic. I am running a blue yeti on a pc. The OS settings are very similar to what they are on a MAC. One piece of advice for those using a PC, make sure in advanced microphone settings the default format is set to "2 channel, 16 bit, 48000Hz (DVD quality)". Mine was originally set to CD quality, switching this made a big difference. I have the PC mic volume set to 66, which works well. On the blue yeti mic, I have the gain set a little higher than you show. Like you said, each setup is a bit different. I use a boom arm with a shock mount and pop filter. When I used the blue yeti with the default desktop stand the sound was really tinny, had a lot of echoes. It might have something to do with the fact the desk has a glass top. Getting the mic off of the desk removed all echo and the tinny sound. Like you mentioned in your video, the desktop mount picks up any sounds on or around the desk. As I stated before, glad I stumbled on your channel when I was searching to blur something in Resolve.

Just discovered your channel with this video and immediately subscribed. I bought a Blue Yeti after months of going back and forth on whether or not to actually go through with the purchase. I was tired of using my iPad or MacBook Air mic to make my YouTube videos (iPad mic was weak. MacBook mic was stronger, but also picked up all sorts of background noise). What was holding me back slightly was all the different patterns (it's very overwhelming for me who has no experience with microphones). The microphone was on sale, so I took the plunge and bought it, but was still overwhelmed. Your video was the first video that popped up when I went searching for how to use a Blue Yeti microphone and I'm glad it was. It was really helpful hearing what the sound is like with the different patterns and hearing the different gain levels. It was also reassuring to hear how good the microphone sounded (a lot of people saying the sound is terrible with this mic definitely had me second guessing my purchase). You did such a good job of explaining everything. I'm very glad I found your channel and will probably go down the rabbit hole when I have time.

Got what I needed from the vid but I'd like to make 1 suggestion: Maybe make some shorts of your segments so people can just get the info they need quicker. This would also help you get some additional views/exposure.
Either way thanks for the help.

had my mic for years and had the settings set up to be "good enough" for streaming, but now that I'm diving into creating just video, I feel like I'm suddenly way critical of my yeti. I'm gonna try the "setting microphone off to the side and talking past it" to help with some of the pops. thanks for the tips

Very clear and detailed tutorial. Thank you for doing this. I just purchased my first Blue Yeti microphone.. the one you used in your presentation. I plan to do a lot of music vocal recordings with it in stereo however your general advice applies no matter how you use this mic.

I got my Blue Yeti Nano a month ago and have been fighting with it ever since. This video helped me a ton! You were 100% right; GAIN IS EVERYTHING! I got on the Sherpa app on my PC and this video made it all so much easier for me, despite you not even touching the Sherpa app in it. Lol. Thank you!!!
