Just FYI, terrain you were walking on after leaving the salt huts wasn't volcanic rock but coral. Cool to see the turtles, especially the baby ones, at 1000 Steps Beach. Love your comfortable, upbeat, narrative style. If you ever return to ABC islands, you can have a really long day there on a HAL itinerary.

Great video and have so many questions!! We will be on Bonaire in Sept via cruise ship, 8 am until 10 pm. We have a two hour snorkeling excursion in the morning and looking at renting a car for the rest of the day. It seems that there are no really sandy beaches on Bonaire based on what I've read. Did you find that the case? Looks fairly easy to drive around? We've been to Aruba a couple of times, so I'm guessing it's much like that.
Anything in particular that you'd recommend, we'll have many hours to check things out. Thanks!!!

There is an AVIS truck and car rental place inside Divi Flamingo Bonaire two minutes from cruise port opens at 9AM.

If you saw the destruction of the reef for these cruise ships, and the thousands of tons of sewage being discharged into the ocean, you would not go on one of these. If you're a reasonable person I suppose.
