Whoever did the effects for this film deserves all the freaking money, recognition, and awards they so desire. I’ve never seen a film completely meld reality with fantasy so beautifully that you don’t even realize you’re watching something computer generated.

Fun Fact: Nighy has bad arthritis in both hands. His last 2 fingers on both hands are permanently curled in. Idk about the rest of him but his hands give him constant pain. The reason I brought it up is because he is still able to give flawless performances despite his health problems. It says alot about his dedication and talent.

Bill Nighy was such an excellent casting choice for this role. He brings a uniqueness to the performance, the little nuances in his facial gestures and in delivering his lines, that really brought the character to life. And this clip is cool because not only are we seeing the actor underneath all that costuming and makeup, but we also get a glimpse of what Davy Jones looked like before he became half sea creature, half man. I would have loved to have seen a Davy Jones origin story stand alone movie. Bill without all the sea creature effects, playing the character BEFORE all that happened.
