The mental image of Davy Jones, one of the most dreaded and ruthless pirate captains, being carried around in a wheelbarrow is officially the funniest thing ever.

Now I’m just imagining someone plotting against Davy Jones, getting a shovel full of sand, and spreading it out on the deck somewhere that Davy usually walks.

Anyone notice how the bucket fits his STYLE? meaning he already had the bucket ready- meaning this may not be the first time he's done this.

It was totally Will. Creative and yet mockingly out of spite.
Then we know how a certain someone that had power over him found it fantastic.
Dave Jones grumbles, as a mockery, but accepts because he is curious too. Internally hating himself for not thinking about it for centuries.

Aren’t these buckets made out of wooden planks from his ship? That is probably one of the many layers of misdirection he was required to rely on to find this sweet spot where he could safely travel over land

No matter what, all conversations will eventually lead back to Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Pintel and Ragetti would totally be arguing like that. I mean, they had that scene in PotC2 where the two are commenting on the different reasons why Jack, Will and Norrington are fighting over a little wooden box.

I really love them, they are the best characters in the series, by a lot.

One thing I undeniable, in this franchise went from "I've got a jar of dirt" to "I've been in a water bucket" very fast

I love the Idea that those 2 were talking about the curse like this and Davy Jones overheard them with the ideas sticking in his head until he was willing to try them.

This reminds me of minecraft biomes. An ocean biome will always be an ocean biome, even if you completely cover it in dirt. As such, Davy Jones is allowed to *be* there, but he still can't step on the sand. Hence the buckets.

I prefer the idea that he actually stood there, under the water, waiting for the sandbar to be revealed. Since the water lowered, he never actually went over the dry land, it simply became dry around him. The other buckets are so that he could easily leave, not get to his current bucket. Just in case that works, he doesn't need to stand there waiting for the tide to return now.

Due to the background music, a "Put Davy Jones in a bucket of water" cover became a thing in my head

Also, if you notice the distance between each individual bucket, you will see that he could not have done a simple step from bucket to bucket, but rather he had to jump from bucket to bucket which is a very comical sight

Another important factor to the conversation that someone pointed out at one point, they’re literally like 10 feet away from the water. They chose to bring him closer to the shore. For no other reason, then I might imagine to piss him off a little.

Could you trap Davy Jones by removing the other buckets? Just kinda have him stuck there forever?

I love the D&D lawyering, but I suspect the real reason for that staging was to decrease the diegetic surf sound during the conversation.

Not the ship crew accidentally sweeping a pile of dirt and Davey stepping on it by accident 😂

I do love that this implies that Will could’ve absolutely stayed with Elizabeth and his son if he was just willing to chill in a bathtub and occasionally walk places via buckets, which overall I feel its a small price to pay in order to see your child grow up and be married to Keira Knightly

When Pintel and Ragetti appeared I lost it. All the small laughs and snickers boiled over into a house shaking laugh. Good job!
