The meaning of each name in Genesis 5 is the gospel.

"Man is appointed mortal sorrow, but the Blessed God shall come down teaching his death will being the despairing rest."

As an adult, when I started reading the Bible for myself, I actually stopped reading AT Genesis 5 because I thought the whole Bible was just chapters of such and suchs sons and family..I knew I'd never be able to remember all those names so I gave up for years. I recently started reading the Bible again and now I'm in Exodus. I will admit though, I almost quit again on Genesis 5 😂 👌🏽 almost

Its why I think son of Noah was Melchizedek. Noah, by the ages lived in Bible was alive when Abram was very young.. And so why wouldn't Noah have known Mechizedek as one of his great great great uncles and made sure to give him a visit?

But God. 😉

Man is the head of the woman. That's why it says fall of man. It reminds me of a woman referred to as Mrs.John Smith( or insert whatever the spouses name is.)

like in the military you can address high-ranking woman as sir even though that's typically a male term. It's a word of respect a title for that position. People get hung up on words and logistics instead of the true meaning and works behind it

So ... The Bible says God is a Spirit and God is light. How is it that man, a corporeal being, was made in the likeness of God. Did something happen after sin?

If you skip Genesis 5 you also skip the verses about Henoch. Also It's pretty interesting that Adam was 130 years old when he became the father of Set. Because this means that at this point God created the first human a 130 years ago in Eden.

Yo the fact that this has to be explained is baffling but appreciated. Woman came from man so is man. Man and woman married in sync under God is now one person. Woman has man at the end of it.

Adam and eve become one flesh and thereby become a whole man.

I'm wondering if you're aware of the differences between the LXX Greek Septuagint genealogy and the numbers in the masorectic text. And why it matters. One lines up with known archeology and the history of Egypt, as well as carbon dating. Which is accurate back to the flood. But not before.
One has the children dying before the parents and the other the normal blessing of your children outliving you.
One is used to disprove Melchizedek as taught in Hebrews. The other agrees with Hebrews. And this matters. One guides jews to their Messiah, the other hides the Messiah from jews.
Can you as a believer answer these questions of our faith or religion?

It's singular because God said man and woman becomes one flesh.

This the generations of HUMAN. The word adam meant human irregardless of sex. The "adam" and eve story got added to the bible by the male chavanist babalonians . Could this religious male chavanist belief partially mean what revelation warned about when it spoke of Babylon the great

lol maybe if woman was spelled womb-man people wouldn't get all huffy. But yes we all are man as God named us men and women like the word mankind but in proper English you can just say man. It's sort of old-fashioned language I suppose to younger people these days

Of course. God called them Man, since collectively they (before seperated) they were created as one man. Afterwards, woman was pulled out of them. Man & woman then existed seperately. Makes you wonder how complete Man was before the splitting in two.
