Another non American owned product, is certainteed. Too many defects for me to use. All these products will have failures occasionally. Certainteed will not stand behind warranty I have found on several occasions. . I just can’t use them for this reason.

Malarkey, Certaingard, Owens Corning-yes and in that order.

GAF?... I don't know the last time you were actually on a roof, maybe they were a good shingle some time ago... but they are the absolute worst shingle money can buy now. Everything about it is sub-par, narrow nail band, low grade asphalt, low resistance to bending, bad coating retention, and hardly enough seal strip to see it, never mind actually seal anything.
If anyone is looking for advice for shingles avoid GAF like the plague.
