My league of legends toxic trait is that I wont back to buy 2 big rods when I have like 3300 gold because at the same time I'm thinking "Oh, but I need so little money to complete my rabadon, I don't wanna back again in one minute"

Further illustrating the point, the teams are less than 2 pink wards apart in effective gold.

Blue Team
7, 635 (unspent)/24, 995 (total) = 17, 360 effective gold

Red Team
4, 260 (unspent)/21, 500 (total = 17, 240 effective gold

This is basically what Bausens law is. You play a build/champion with a focus on powerspikes, so you dont give a shit if you are even or the enemy is ahead in gold because your focus is to get your powerspikes. But with Bausens law you do everything in your power to not have your enemy be able to back. You get to buy when you die but the enemy has to sacrifice a wave, tp or you getting plates for them to back. So overall you dictate how the lane goes even though you are "behind".

Ive been struggling with this on pyke support. Its so tempting to just keep roaming around picking up fruit for sustain. Then i die and im like "but why? im me purchasing a full item and a half while dead.

Whenever i play jg, i just forget to back, because everything is happening around the map, my camps spawn back after a gank, so i just do another jungle rotation, and then another gank opportunity, then big camps then i back with basically half an item worth and boots, thankfully I don't always play jg tho

I've actually had this problem for so long, I never even realized. It got worse when they added the pets and jungle could basically full heal by taking a few camps. Would sit on 2-3k because i never needed to back to heal up. Now i recall after getting like 1-1.5k and clearing one side of my jg.

Screw it, there should be an inspiration keystone that gives you adaptive force when you forget to back and buy items, scaling with how much gold you have.

in order to avoid learning any of this, onetrick ornn jungle. you never have to back unless you get into a fight, and you can go bami's -> warmogs to NEVER press b.

this of course only works if you're in lower elo and have a general playing skill above your elo. otherwise, you're gonna get counterpicked by a kindred and die 5 times before 10min.

Just go teleport, and if you find yourself having shit ton of gold, but there is a teamfight about to start, just recall, spend gold and tp back. That's what I do since I started using teleport, definetly helps, in any role. I play support with tp, it's very nice to be able to tp into fight, help gank, help push waves, taking inhib...

Know what Items you want to build, the moment you have the gold for a component, push one under turret and recall.

The tighter you can fit your buys the more you can be on map and fight with item advantage

It's why the bauss strategy is so broken till emerald and diamonds if you're good mechanically and with the inting strat and you have a 3 pull champ

I’ve been proud of backing when I have like 500 gold as a support after crashing a wave. Just buy a book or a tear and then go back to lane. It’s slow scaling, but early game, +20 AP is a lot more than it sounds. Makes all the difference to get that back, play more waves, get another good back, maybe get a kill at that point, and then back with an extra 150 to buy two components instead of just one, making me even stronger when I come back.

This is true, I often find games where I am so behind, but because I keep dying, I just come back to lane with tp while enemy tries to crash and I have Item advantage after that

People tend to point to gold/kills for what champs are ahead, when what really matter is what's in their inventory (and levels)
