Why People Are Freaking Out About Star Wars Battlefront 2, EA, and Reddit

EA has been rustling feathers lately with its microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (release date: November 17). EA posted the most downvoted comment in Reddit history, and want to do an AMA on Wednesday. Disney probably isn't happy about this.

Great video. This is a perfect example of what’s wrong with the video game market. All it’s going to take is one big title being successful with this convoluted mechanism allowing players to purchase game completion and all future games will become the same thing. I have no issue with game companies making money but this is pure greed.

As someone who works for the IRS, I can tell you right now that EA is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. you wouldn't believe the amount of cuts and short-doings this place does to get out of paying taxes. i hate P2W mechanics. the whole point of playing a game is both to have a sense of progression and enjoy the game. if you can "buy off" the progression part - it would make you burn out quicker. i don't mind micro-transactions so long as they are not pay to win and they give you something worthwhile like cosmetics and such that doesn't effect your overall performance.

i sure hope that people will take into consideration everything that has been brought up because there needs to be a step backwards to the "Golden days" where companies invested more in the game up front and not make a whole game and give you 60% while selling you the remaining 40% as DLC.

Rhykker, I have been watching your videos for a few years now loyaly and take what you say seriously. After hearing about this at work, I had to see if you made a video concerning it and sure enough...

I will now not buy this game.... ever! I don't care what they do to change it. This game was going to be a final attempt to see if EA got their act together.
