Warren, your testimony in Christ is powerful, and your debate was logical, humble, and solidly scriptural. I pray your ministry will blossom by His Spirit.

My personal encounter with the Living Christ, on my own, stoned on drugs, living a extremely promiscuous lifestyle assured me He offers salvation to all who have ears to hear!

Genesis is where Calvinism toppled for me as well.

If you don’t do these debate, how many people are going to believe, lies and wind up in hell I think you’re doing a wonderful work and I thank you. It has been a wonderful learning prayer for me. I didn’t even know I was a Calvinist these things have helped me tremendously.

I actually thought Warren's use of Hebrews 2 destroyed Matt the most. He shifted to calling him Pelagian as he had no comeback at all. Also the infant dying in which Matt conceded he thought babies go to heaven rather than hell. I know Matt was gracious there given Slick's experience with his own infant child dying but there was zero consistency there if he holds to total depravity... well done Warren. You were up against not only Slick but the Calvinistic moderator who was anything but impartial.

I'm tired of Calvinism giving God a black-eye (assigning all sin to God) with their determinism. People need to be careful as to what they lay at the Lord's doorstep.

A way that Calvinism changed my thinking was that I would look at my parents and how they behaved, being angry a lot and speaking unwholesomely, and I could only conclude that God just has not given them enough grace so that they could be free from those things. I thought, well I must’ve been given more grace because I’m not doing A, B, C, etc.

Yikes

I've been following 'Idol Killer' for a couple of years but apart from snippets here and there, I never heard Warren's story of how he came out of Calvinism. What a beautiful testimony. Thank you both for this video.

I just went and watched this debate and all I can say is that Matt Slick is an absolute jerk and I could hardly stand listening to him through most of it. That debate was disgusting on his part.

41:10 Ultimately, what you believe about the God you worship will determine the way in which you treat others in the world around you. It is the exact defense John Calvin put forth for his execution of 'heretics'. He believed he was doing God a favor and saving him the time. He never repented.
The initial reaction to the nature of the God Calvinism portrays is in no way reflective of the usual response one has to hearing really Good News.

49:00 - 50:25 - BOOM.

I don't want to hear another Calvinist object to me saying that they teach "salvation by grace through doctrine" because there it is. Logically, inescapably, that's what they teach.

Men, pay no attention to the nay-sayers! The subject is important because truth is important and people need to know. John 17:17

Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. (Ps. 119:98-102)

I came out of Calvinism over time. After my conversion in my young 20's I was converting family and friends for years and truly felt that the Reformed view quenched my need for intellectualizing scripture through a system. I also have had many health problems starting out at birth. I have had two kidney transplants over the past 23 years. Multiple surgeries and 3 specific points of almost dying from some bad infections and a virus. I remember laying in bed questioning my Calvinist view of God who had predetermined all these trials in my life. I found no peace in my belief system. Then the breaking point came when my 3 month old daughter almost died from being born a diabetic with a sugar level of 1, 350. It didn't matter what God did to me, but when my precious child almost died I saw this as something that was not God's will. She survived but had significant cerebral damage and my world fell apart. I remember my Pastor telling me God gives and God takes blessed be the name of the Lord. He has a purpose for every tear and loss in this life, you can't question his divine decree. He is in total control and there is a perfect purpose for all thing good and evil. This is not the kind of God I wanted to serve and give my life to. It wasn't until I met Jesus again. Seeing him as the ultimate revelation, image and character of God. This has forever changed me inwardly and outwardly.
