Guys I just got my braces on yesterday, and while I don’t know much, I do know about putting braces on and 1st Pain. The braces don’t hurt when they put them on, but on the day you are supposed to get your braces (mine was July 6th, so let’s put that as a example)
So on July 6th at the time before you leave, I recommend drinking a big glass of water. Because the braces don’t hurt to be put on, but they put this huge mouth thing over your lips and in some conditions of your teeth (I got them) they’ll put this soft thing the shape of normal bottom teeth and they will tell you to bite down on it. Plus, I don’t know for others but my mouth gets horribly dry when I have my lips open without closing it for too long. So I recommend water. And then get prepared for the ✨ P A I N ✨
I also kinda recommend eating popcorn like, 2 days before you get it because you can’t eat popcorn once you get braces. I made the stupidest decision of my life and turned down popcorn because I was “preparing to get braces”. Oh what a horrible mistake. I cant eat popcorn for _2_ years now and i already miss popcorn! I ONLY HAD BRACES FOR A DAY!
And now, the PAIN
There’s going to be soreness in your mouth, maybe 15 minutes after you get them on to about 4 days. I’m on my 2nd day so I have FREAKING SO MUCH PAIN IN MY MOUTH AS IM WRITING THIS! But don’t worry, its just your teeth getting adjusted. For brushing? I recommend a electric toothbrush. My orthodontist recommended it to me and I got one. But get prepared. One advice: OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND CURL YOUR LIPS WHILE BRUSHING, AND TRY *NOT* TO TOUCH THE BOTTOM OF YOUR 2 (or 1, I’m not you so idk) TOP TEETH WHILE BRUSHING! I swear, it hurts way too much!
And just remember, that your teeth will look great and you can eat anything you want and you get to brag that you lived through this and you can brush without pain and you can live your life normally once you get them off! Good luck! 🍀 You will really need it!

Got mine a week ago. And also tooth filling as well. Process is very easy when getting braces on. I know it is one of the daunting experience we may face but believe me, no need to be scary at all. Goodluck guys, u all can do it! ❤️

I got braces a few weeks ago, and it's 100% not as bad as I thought!
1. The process doesn't hurt
2. Eating is a bit annoying (very..) but not painful if you're careful
3. It only hurts for 2-3 days (Not a lot, just aches)
4. You can't feel them after a week or so

January 11th is my 1 year with braces anniversary I got those same ties on my bottom teeth when I got my bottom braces put on in August, but 2 weeks ago they changed the ties, witch I was really excited about they also started me on class 2 elastics, I still have another year and a half to go in braces ❤❤❤❤ I love this content getting to see others braces journeys ❤❤❤

So for the blue stuff that goes on your teeth to dry them up, that's the only thing I'm worried for. I have a super bad gag reflex, and I gag when they rinse my mouth during a cleaning. I don't wanna gag 🖐🏻😭

I’ve had braces for a while and they don’t exactly show or tell uncomfortable the equipment is that they put in your and it tastes really gross and it is hard to eat the first couple of days once you them on cause your teeth will be sore

Man, I have to get this done soon. I was really nervous, but seeing this and how it's done calmed me down! Thanks! The only thing I'm nervous about now is if it'll affect how I play my brass instrument. I play a mellophone. Will my braces change how I sound? I have to play in a competition multiple times this summer with a 10 minute song while marching!!!!
