What's New in Fusion | Sept 2024 | Offset | Bevel | Configure Joints | Drawings | Parameter Import

In this video we are going to take a look at the new updates to Autodesk Fusion for September 2024. Fusion got a handful of updates and we don't cover them all so if you want to see everything that has been updated or added check out their official blog post here:

defintily need a ' project as construction lines options.. as well as make construction when doing offsets or flip original to offset

My jaw literally dropped open when you got to being able to import/export parameters. I’ve wanted this since I started using Fusion, and it’s a bit puzzling why it took so long to add it.

great to see the updates to offset! I just wish it could do a "locus" for example an offset on a line creates a slot instead of just a parallel line

Correct... I also remember that bavel could be used at an internal edge. I guess they ran into issues with the crown option... It's a bummer though.

I wish they'd add American paper sizes to drawings. A4 paper doesn't grow on trees on this side of the pond.

Really wish you could directly use local parameters to parametrize external components

Parameters should be objects in the project root and components and edited from the Browser. Components and child-components inherit parameters from root / parent component.

Hi hi,
Offset command. Draw an object second make it a construction line(s). Select offset, select object, select two sides, define the distance. Both offset lines will be normal lines

Some good changes, but I have a massive problem with the update: I can't export any body to a mesh, it says "Autodesk Translation Service failed to translate the current document to 3mf file" - and before you ask: stl-file also doesn't work. When I try to save the mesh directly to my slicer, fusion opens the slicer but no file appears.

Moved to FreeCad a while back. Fully parametric, imagine adjusting your model with a spreadsheet. No more bloatware for me.
