My wife got me one in 2025 and I missed all the teething problems every one else had when they got theirs at launch. And I have to say I fucking LOVE my PlayStation portal.

I really hope I can still see the time when PlayStation releases a new fully functional handheld device and not a game streaming handheld. I grew up with the PSP and IT WAS THE BEST! They should really make a PSP 2 or PS VITA 2. Imagine being able to run games at 1080p at 60 or 120 FPS on a handheld. It should be possible especially with the ROG ALLY and Steam Deck, etc. being able to do it.

I say that they needed to have the option of installing your digital games from the library on it. Would be more worth it if we could that way we did not always have to be on the wi-fi.

All of my games are downloaded so i will be able to login to my account and still play those games right

Needing a subscription to play games does not make the portal a stand alone device since you need 1. A subscription and 2. An internet connection. Glad to see more options for Portal owners but to say it's a stand alone system is just not true.
