Soo…prices won’t increase if the dock workers get a 75% wage increase. I’m not good at math but increasing wages by 75% when you have thousands and thousands of employees will raise prices as well

So how much are the Union workers are making? Well according to multiple sources like USA Today, CNBC, independent source Washington Post states that : Top-tier workers – meaning anyone who joined the company in 2007 or earlier – make roughly $33 an hour on average, contract summaries for the Detroit Three show. Those hired after 2007 are part of the lower tier and earn up to $17 an hour based on a buildup of 6% annual raises under the last contract.

Y’all.. majority of the workers come from after 2017. 6% of $17 is 1.07– per year. And for the $33 per hour is $1.98 per year. I live in a 2 person household in the hood. I make $15 and S/O makes $19. We STILL struggle to get bills paid. These people work under billionaires. Who give themselves ‘bonuses’ DAILY. c’mon y’all. Support the people!! It’s an uphill battle for them! NOT the “record breaking profit” CEOS and millionaires and billionaires.

The trucking industry cannot afford this right now. Everyone should be aware how close to a collapse we are.

Their demands are unreasonable. They should all be replaced and barred from the industry.

You shouldn’t be allowed to hold the entire country hostage. BS that they can’t just fire them all. These strikers don’t care that your goods cost more or you can’t get things for your family.

I read the average dock worker in USA IS ON $39 AN HOUR! In Belgium the average dock worker pay is €19 an hour (about $21) and Belgium is a very expensive place to live with very high taxes!!!

How much do these guys make and what are they asking for? I had a 1-month temp job working on the port and those longshoreman were balling & had a house/2-3 cars/daily visits to the bars/eating out for lunch everyday. This is bad timing for the longshoreman to be risking the entire economy if they ain't starving/hurting like the rest of us. Isn't 40% over 6-years more than most people are getting as I feel like most get 2-3% increase per year.

The companies that don’t collapse will still profit from this, the corporate world is beyond greedy and unfair, sitting on mounds of gold and green that the poor will never see leaving homes dark and cold and people without jobs. What will it take for our world to become better?
