Meanwhile our politicians are helping themselves to their 6th summer home in another state while drivibg $250k luxury cars and eating nothing but top-shelf food. When are we going to snap?

No one has $$$ to buy stuff for the holidays so let's not get too excited about the strike

People will panic, so it will make the shortage worse very quickly

It might do us some good to stop buying so much crap.

This means no supplies for southeast usa, hurricane damage, long term pain and suffering.

The Unions also want a contract that will stop automaton. There’s no way companies would agree to that

My dad was a longshoreman. I could tell you firsthand. They are better off with automation compared to climbing up to the crane and physically doing the work as opposed to letting computers and machines do it unfortunately, just like the car industry alot of people lost their jobs. These people are paid extremely a lot of money, they don’t need anymore. I don’t feel bad for you at all. Have you guys do nothing? I see it every day.

We grow lots of route and vegetables right here in American ? So why are we importing all these fruit n veggies anyways ? We should be growing as much of our own american food as possible !

Give the dock workers 77% raise, the the truck drivers 76% raise, then people on SS 75% raise and so on !😮

If this strike happens and no deal is made, and if that goes over to the trucking industry also.

Then that will be the one two punch that will knockout the American economy.

Just saying

They need to automate these ports ASAP.

So many ignorant people in the comment section. Look into what the ILA is asking for. It’s actually not much. Steady pay increases and job security from automation. Keep in mind, they operate on 6 year contracts. These are people that worked through Covid on a pre Covid contract, and saw none of the financial benefits that the shipping companies saw.

My my my my my my I'm retired I'd like to have a 77 percent raise too. What a crock of s***

So you’re telling me that this isn’t gonna impact any longshoreman on any other country that ships to America this domino is huge

I’m part of a union and I honestly can’t stand it. They “fight” for our jobs but it’s all for political gain. Everyone just complains about more rights instead of getting the job done.

Do dock workers have benefits such as healthcare, vision and dental along with current pay? I feel like we should be discussing why they are striking in the first place

Meaning also, not mentioned factory layoffs

Holiday? Please don’t tell me these idiots are worried about Halloween. Holiday celebrations are a choice not a necessity
