I loathe orangewood sticks they always hurt .... I prefer my metal cuticle pushers

Just be sure to round the edge also, otherwise you end up filing it so sharp it can give you a cut. I’ve done that. Make the sharp edge softer by filing it directly and always tast with your finger first. If it feels sharp and hurts to push against your skin, it’s likely too sharp to use on your cuticle.

I have been doing this for years, it works great 🙏

I do this and I also code it in gel so it has no chance to flake off and give me any kind of splinters

I was honestly expecting some expensive alternative! I never even considered this! You have a new follower!

Great! What a great solution! To file it back into wanted shape and reuse it is a very smart idea @Nailcou. 🥰 Love watching your channel.

There is a missconception about the term cuticle. What you demonstrated to push back is the proximal nail fold. The cuticle is the thin white layer of dead skin that stucks to the nailplate.

Yep. That's exactly what I do with mine. Works like a charm🎉
Thanks for confirming❤

I use metal pushers, I'm too lazy to file orange wood sticks.😅

Or buy a silicone cuticle pusher to not use up wood and possibly hurt yourself if you don’t want to get a metal one.

is it possible for the orangewood sticks to leave splinters when pushing back the cuticle?

I never liked the orange wood sticks that are being sold now. I have my mother's orange wood sticks, and they are much smoother and work like a charm. When I wrap a thin wisp of cotton around the edge to clean around my manicure the morning after I do my nails, the wisp is easy to slip off after I've finished with it. They are easily over 80 years old. I never dreamed of getting rid of them, and now, I'm glad that I still have and use them.

Is this orange stick better, than a cuticle pusher? ✨️

You should always wrap a cotton piece around it

Hi!! I love your vids!!❤ But I have a question, how do you push back the cuticles if you are just pushing the wooden stick under it?😅
