Promising to hear. Unlike some I was instantly on board with exploring Gotham from the POVs of the villains, GCPD and the Arkham staff & especially after seeing The Batman. I was a bit worried it may end up being a somewhat generic mobster show after hearing the plot details & seeing the trailers but it seems like it my be compelling based on what you say.

Especially intriguing to hear Collin Farrell possibly winning Emmys for this. This may be a show that transcends comic-book TV series in a way similar to a show like Daredevil is regarded.

Saying it's not a comicbook show goes along with what I've always said about The Batman. It's not a superhero movie. It's a movie about a serial killer that happens to have Batman in it. Can't wait for Penguin!

Sounds like they handled the character exactly like you're supposed to. Solo stuff without the franchise star really requires an in-depth understanding of the character they decided to focus on. Cobblepot pretty much lives full Sopranos when left to his own devices. He's like *the* mobster archetype of Gotham, even when trying to compare the actual crime families to him. (Then again I just find him more engaging by comparison)
