I was never particularly good at it, but I always went straight to Outrun every time I entered an arcade. A touchstone to my childhood. Another excellent refurbishment.

I've been binging a video of yours every night this week before bed, and I just wanna say that "Out Run" is my all time favorite arcade game. I mentioned that I worked at a screen printing place that shared the building with a coin-op distribuitor/restoration business, and when we first moved in, I met the game crew and when they found out "Out Run" was a fave of mine, they gave me a marquee to hang up in our office! I put it over the bathroom door haha I love this game so much that I have the soundtrack on vinyl! Also, I took notice right away that it has an updated soundtrack in this version, including the 3DS and Sega Mega Drive (European Genesis) songs! Very cool updated ROM!

The greatest part of watching these videos is seeing the other machines on the arcade floor and remembering their restoration videos. 😄

Thrilled to finally see it on the floor! The restore is gorgeous and well worth the wait. I grew up past the prime time of arcades, and this was one of the few cabinets I have memories of playing out in the wild. Getting stand in front of it as an adult is like reuniting with a best friend that moved away in First grade 😌

Great job on the cabinets! Glad you went with the black t-molding, totally agree about hot pink w/ synthwave aesthetic. But come on man, "Passing Breeze" *is* Out Run.

I used to have a kiddy ride outrun. Red car 🚗 at my old arcade. It was funny watching adults play it because it would really flick you around in the corners more than games like Daytona USA, Sega Rally or Ridge Racer. Good job Mike.

The working turbo outrun pcb would have sold for more than that by itself on eBay. But Smarty pi’s outrun boards are the way to go these days. Great video!
