Very nice. Typing this on my external keyboard now. Helps with neck pain and my shoulder impingement not to have to have my laptop down at my arm height. I have my laptop elevated on a stand now.

Another reason for doing this is; if you have a computer desk with a lower shelf for a keyboard, it is better for your back long-term, as your posture will be better.

The reason why many people would like to plug a keyboard into a laptop are:
1. Desktop keyboards are arranged differently than on the laptop and learning a new device can be a pain sometimes.
2. The buttons, keys, tabs (what ever you want to call them) feel much different for a desktop keyboard than a laptop.
3. Many people who opted for a laptop due to portability say they hate the feel and arrangement of laptop keyboards.

I hate laptop keyboards. If I ever get a laptop it's good to know I can hook a desktop keypad to it.
I've seen people hook mouses to laptops so I know that can be done.
The only drawback is most laptops have only 2 or 3 USB ports so you use them up attaching extra devices to it.
