Many times in the shop I find myself needing a quick and easy way to make repeatable cuts on the miter saw. This DIY stop block setup has proven to be the fastest and easiest setup for me and requires nothing permanent and can be assembled up using only scrap wood and a couple of clamps. If you don’t have a dedicated miter saw station, this is the perfect solution! I hope you enjoy the video!

This was by far the easiest most clear and concise demonstration of how to make a “SIMPLE” stop block. Thanks for sharing this.

Nothing fancy. It doesn't need to be. Perfect and thanks.

Just clamping a block to a fence is an underrated technique -- I approve -- I do the same thing. One thing I notice that I think should be mentioned in your video, however, is that you don't have a matching fence on the left side of the miter saw, so when you are pushing your work piece against the stop block and fence on the right side, your piece isn't really secure/square. Probably obvious to most viewers, but for completeness, I would include that.

Great tip without having to make a bespoke stop end . Thanks

Good idea. I have a 1 m 50 aluminium profile that looks just like your piece of wood. I could screw that to my miter saw fence, just short of touching the blade. Then I would not have to put another piece on top of the first piece and fix it with a clamp.

Thank you thank you thank you! I have been trying to find a way to set up a stop block on my Dewalt miter saw. But my boards are either too narrow, or the screws are too long, etc etc. This is a great alternative that is SOOO easy -- just what I needed!!

Love the scripture in the video. Praise the Lord.

Good tip, however you may want to consider putting a piece of sacrificial fence on the left side of your saw as well. Unless you are always working on the right side the saw you have no back support for the board over there. Just friendly advice, not trying to be negative. Good work

Just interested, what have I been saved from?

Your clamp barely has any grip on your subfence. A wider board screwed from the back would be more a reliable fence for repeatable cuts.

interesting quote about god saving us from rules and punishment he created. Think for yourself, buddy. Don't be a victim, and don't torture your own children like your god would torture hers

You don't have a matching spacer on the left side of the saw blade. That will get you hurt. Don't do this as shown.
